Graphic Designers?

So, uh, yeah. I was just curious if we happened to have any bored graphic designers lurking about? Don't even have to be pro, I'm that easy! tongue.gif

I'm just looking for a logo to be made, even if its just basic and conceptual. I just don't have very much talent when it comes to anything artistic, and so I thought I'd come here and shoot out a quick inquiry to all of you friendly folks!

The name for the logo would be: Broken Narrative
And what I'm looking for is something in mostly black/white/grays, and something that's fairly simple, but something that also fits with the image/idea of the name. I can give more details into what I've thought about if wanted/needed.

I think I can probably get away with offering a small batch of credits as well, if we both think the final product is worth it. smile.gif

Anyway, that's all. Thanks for even taking the time to read this!

*interested* Details would be nice.

Well, it's for a website that is going to revolve around fiction-writing and stuff. Overall slightly darker on the scale when it comes to themes. Noir is a very big influence, hence the gray-scale colors mentioned (though it doesn't have to be restricted to that necessarily.)

I wanted something that sort of held the idea of the name.. so, one idea that came to mind was like an open book or even just a page or something, with Broken written on one side and Narrative written on the other, and having the thing being torn apart slightly (not so much that it makes the image toooo crooked, but enough to get the message apart.

Another thought was having it be two different materials (like maybe type-face for one, and something that looks like notebook paper for the other) that make up each word, but have some of the letters be swapped. So, like: BrokeN narrative.

Or something like it's on an old warehouse window that's been broken in some places to reveal either a different font of letter, or just to even form the 'o' or something.

Hopefully those give a general idea of what I'm looking for--but those were just thoughts, and definitely not restrictive guidelines.

For the credits though, I'd like something that looks professional and clean and good. I can't offer too much, unfortunately, since I'd actually have to buy them just to give them to you. (though I guess I can also offer a direct little payment through PayPal as well, now that I think of it)

Edit: Oh, also, something that could be used as the main banner/logo for the site is what I'm looking for, more than just a sig or something like that. Just to be clear.

I never thought of posting here. I could also use one, for a project somewhat larger than this: I want to independently publish a (pencil and paper, not computer) roleplaying game and I need a logo, character sheet, borders, and interior art. I couldn't pay up front, but I could pay a share of the sales instead. The game is an action-adventure game inspired by 24 that is played in real time, so the feel I'd be looking for is similar to that of 24. Contact me if you're interested.

That sounds nifty, Gwyl. Is it sort of like an Alternate Reality Game, where it's running all the time, or closer to a Vampire: The Masquerade LARP situation?

Alternate realities are sooo cool, I wish I knew of one running near me.

(What's a warehouse window look like?) Have particular dimensions in mind?

I might be interested in some projects such as this, just for the fun of it.

Nope, it's a pencil-and-paper roleplaying game. (Well, I'm not sure what you are thinking of when you say "an Alternate Reality Game" but I'd be surprised if that's some new branding for good old fashioned roleplaying games.)

OoOo. I like this. This is a definitely awesome start.

And I have no idea what exactly I meant by warehouse window laugh.gif It was just a really vague idea, like something straight out of an old detective movie, just an old beaten down warehouse sort of building. But I really like the book now that I see it, especially with that torn page.

If you could go a little further with that one, I think it could be exactly what I'm looking for.

Hrm. How's this?

Hm. Actually, I like the book you used for the first one more. Maybe just make that one a little bigger, aand try having Narrative be in like Courier or something, so that it contrasts a bit with the Broken?

I sent a PM, but just in case:

It's definitely working for me, but I have to put a hold on this for a little bit, unfortunately. But I'll be coming back to needing one pretty soon, hopefully. Sorry for the hassle and then saying "wait!" Stuff with people I'm working on it with is just coming up, so I need to get things in order before I go off in any given direction.

Unfortunately I'm too busy with my job to do any outside work. I'd probably charge you too much anyways tongue.gif

Cool. Hope things work out.
