Best bashing class/race

Back to Common Grounds.

I played a bit right when Lusternia first started(after quite a few years in Achaea) and now i'm coming back to it. Since I am oblivious in Lusternia now I was wondering what the best class/race combo was best for just bashing. I plan to get into more pvp at higher levels but am only interested in levelling. I do have the capacity to purchase credits so I am open to all ideas. (Artifacts are the only thing out of the question.)

Thanks!

Monk.

Any specific race? I looked into Kephera for that. Y/N

Kephera for Shofangi/Tahtetso, Illithoid for Nekotai/Ninjakari. Each gets a bonus to their weapon stats for racial familiarity.

If you want to go Ninjakari, look me up and I can help you out. Can't tell you much about the other monk types, as I've never played them.

And specifically male kephera for Shofangi/Tahtetso, if that wasn't obvious.

As for nothing but levelling, human is good since you gain experience faster. There is always a free reincarnation if you change your mind later, as well.

Spiritsinger Elfen (bard)

No. Spiritsinger Elfen Bards not the best bashing class. I'd say Monks are the best all-over. Kephera and Illithoid are good, but so are Tae'Dae, Igasho and Loboshigaru since all you want for bashing is tanking, and to a lesser extent speed, but none of the speed races can match the tanking of these guys.

SS elfen for low levels, human warrior or monk for high.
Dugan2009-02-07 01:18:14
I would say either lobo or human if you were going monk.

Undead (for bloodrage) Ninjakari Human with lowmagic Autumn and Harmony Karma blessing. Lots of stacked exp bonuses there.

Though, we'd always love to have another active player in the Nekotai.

Nekotai Illithoid. You'll tear Astral scorps a new one.

I'd go with Geo human with those buffs + facebook. Psionics is apparently good for bashing.

Not sure about low level monk bashing (and how dependent on criticals it is), but low level warrior bashing is the worst.

You can't get Autumn as a Geo. And psionics is only comparatively good. You get a few more DMP if you lock channels, and TK can use forcefield ... but you're still nowhere near as good a basher as a monk. Especially because monks can take psionics if they want that DMP too, they just can't get forcefield.

Oh yes, and you have a 4s staff attack and can't raze!

Heh, forgot about that part D:.

I'd go so far as to say harmony psymets with one of the high con or spec races. Tons of DMP to almost all damage types and regeneration like you wouldn't imagine.
Celina2009-02-07 05:07:49
Harmony male kephera. Bashing beasts.

Lobo isn't that bad either. The natural regen on top of all the harmony and psymet regen is amazing.

Ok, i've been playing an Illithoid Monk for about a week and i'm teetering on the edge of going warrior but then I read someone's comment about low level warrior bashing. Is level 30 still "low" and still bad for warriors? How is mid to high ranged igasho/taedae warrior hunting compared to monk? More thoughts appreciated since I suck at decision making. (I'm still a freshman novice so changing class isn't an issue)

EDIT: I do have enough karma for a harmony blessing by now also.

I'd recommend instead of switching and looking at other race/class combinations, ask around and learn more about bashing and best bashing spots. Level thirty for a monk in a week (even if you play like hour a day) is saying that you're doing something wrong. I recall that I once made a monk alt just to test a few things and got up to 35 in two hours or so and close to level 50 in four or five hours. Eventhough it was before the latest monk changes, I don't believe that much has changed.
Having been both monk and warrior, monk bashing is definately better, I'm not certain about the really high end bashing (read Titan and Demigod). That's somewhat grey area. Some claim that at those levels warriors are much better, while others say tha monks are.

At your levels you should at least start killing things like krokani, sharks in Sea of Despair (as in Inner Sea someone could jump you), can't comment about Spectre Isle as I've never killed anything there, but I think you should be able to handle those. You should also be able to kill some of the orcs in Shallach, spiders caverns under the observatory, things in the Desert (watch out from sandworms though)... scholars, bards, pilgrims still give nice exp, gold and karma around those levels so that's an option.

LOL don't go warrior for bashing. instead you will spend all your time forging and not bashing. Stay monk and kick the crap out of everything.
