PS3 has had somewhat of a slow start, but they did as well with PS2 which turned into a very good platform with many good games, whereas XBOX seems very focused on the overall image, which works well for the more casual/new gamer's market. I think PS3 will continue strongly, though, and have more intense games over time (and it's not just my job saying this tongue.gif ), even though their network don't have as much superfluous flash and bang like XBOX's.

Regarding this game in particular, I know they sent it back to re-do some aspects, however I hear that the gameplay isn't overly impressive as far as graphics go, which becomes quite a problem at the high-end gaming level (really serious shooters turn everything down to as low reso as possible to maximize performance, which means if you are starting with low-quality graphics, there is a serious hinderance to gameplay).

I think the concept of melding gaming (a form of escapism) with RL consequences is a very interesting one. Instead of just paying to play, or paying for upgrades, your very actions in the game determine RL outcomes (albeit penny and nickel transactions), which heralds a transition to the potential for more fantastic scenarios people first envisioned back when gaming was in its infancy (think cyberpunk stuff, like Snowcrash, or the more recent, such as Williams' Otherland series).
