It'll be fun and and encourage interaction and creativity and help foster a unique atmosphere as people start designing personalized stationary for official uses as well as just interesting designs for personal use.

Plus I want it! female.gif

Sounds like a good reason to me biggrin.gif

Well the main reason is because it has to list the author.... Fania goes to a shop and sees a book she likes. She buys the book. The book, previously having no author, has to have the author set as Fania on purchase. Fania realizes that she doesn't want the book anymore because it was the wrong color. Now the book has an author, and she can't sell it back in her shop.

I suspect that the problem is a more technical one than that, something about databases or the like. If it were just this "buyer's remorse" problem, Estarra would probably just laugh and say "tough luck", as she has when people make that same mistake with artisan goods.

The good thing about the stationary idea is it wouldn't be impacted by this issue.

Speaking of, I also really liked Avaer's idea about signatures for contracts and treaties.

I forgot add something to the original post:

As a subset of Convenience
Utility
Not many tradeskills have it, but some do. Herbalist get to cram more puffs out of a single herb, Artisans get Prized (yeah, before you shoot this, it is utility of some sort), and Jewelers get Tierstone. Perhaps adding some utility might help balance out Bookbinding.

And under Creativity:
Our Transcandant item is the only generic item, with the exception of Alchemy's because Alchemy has no cartels. Why is it that every other Transcendant trade item are either an 'improved' version of their goods the way Forging, Jewelry, Artisan and even Enchanters can, or get a totally new category to design with, the way Tailors get? The only Bookbinding item that is likely to be visible to everyone, is the one item that cannot be customised.

Would be cool if you could enchant any type of full sized to be your magictome instead of just getting a generic one.

EDIT: And don't you DARE changing the MAP alias. I remember what it was like before we had it. If you didn't have an automapper and if Caffrey didn't get it already, IT SUCKED.

I had an idea for MagicTome. Like Razenth mentions, I would like to be able to 'magicfy' my Tome, to make a MagicTome. In addition, I dislike the notion that the MagicTomes are blank, other than some scrolls in it. I mean, if one Scroll of Healing can contain 50 charges, it wouldn't take more than 4 (or 8, if you assumed it took both pages on the Scrolls) to completely fill up a MagicTome. So I suggest that inside the MagicTome, we get the Elder Histories, the Vernal Histories and all that. The Histories are one of the most kickass part of the game, and I'd love it if Bookbinders get to carry a copy of it around, using it to kick other people's ass.

Edit: Also, the Histories would be the only way to fill up all the, what 100 pages in a tome?
