Introduction

This is it. After many incredible fights, it all comes down to this. Who will be the champion of the third Super Smash Bros Brawl tournament?



The Final Destination floats through space all alone. Right now, it is empty, but that won't last. Tomorrow, at this very place, it shall be decided. Mario, Link, Pikachu and Kirby, all excellent fighters who have proven their strength in numerous matches will battle for the title of smash champion.

But now, it is night. And time to sleep. Many rest, unaware of the tragedy that will soon befall the tournament. There won't be a friendly competition and test of strength tomorrow.

But instead, a battle for survival.

Pikachu yawns and steps out into the fresh morning air. "This is it." She adjusts her voicebox, grooms her ears and makes sure that her goggles are sparkly clean. With everything taken care of, she runs to the stadium. Eager to begin a new day.

"Heeeeeeeello ladies and gents and WELCOME!" The announcer shouts into his microphone, and his voice resounds throughout the entire arena. "Welcome to the grand final of the Super Smash Bros Brawl tournament. And are we in for an exciting match today folks."

"Hey Link!" Pikachu jumps onto Link's shoulder and gives him a hug. "Good luck." "You too." Link responds with a smile.

"The four big stars of Nintendo have fought long and hard, and today they will duke it out. Who among them will walk away with the trophy as the Champion of Super Smash Bros Brawl."

"Hey Kirby. You're looking good. Let's have a good match." Mario greets the pink puffball. "Hiiiii." Kirby responds.

"So give it to them folks. Let's get ready to Brawl!" Roars of applause can be heard from the crowd.

"Okay guys. This is it. We're going on!" Pikachu cheers loudly with the three other stars.

"Our Red fighter today is Mario. He won the Melee tournament last year. Will he grasp victory again?"

Mario jumps into the ring and flashes Peach and Luigi a winning smile. "Oh Mario. Good luck!" "Good luck Bro."

"In Blue, we have Kirby, the dark horse of the tournament. He has yet to win anything. Will this be his chance to shine?"

Kirby comes crashing in on a Warp Star and does a little dance before he waves at all the Waddle Doos and Dees gathered to cheer for him.

"Our Yellow Fighter is Pikachu. She won the first Brawl, but was curiously absent during the finals last brawl. Will she prove herself again and reclaim the title of "Smash Champion"?"

A large ball of electricity crashes into the arena, out of which comes Pikachu. "Big sis! You rule. Go win. Go win. Win win win! Pikachu! YAY!!!" Pichu chants as he jumps in his seat.

"Finally in Green we have Link, who won the Melee Tag Team Tournament with Zelda. Can he manage to grasp victory on his own?"

Link arrives on the arena in a swirl of wind and leaves and gives a friendly nod towards Zelda. "Hey Link. You better not lose." Midna yells from the stands.

"Okay folks. The battle is about to begin. So say it with me everyone."

"STOP THE MATCH!" A burst of light appears in the middle of the arena, out of which comes Ness, carrying two trophies. "Stop the match. Stop the match!"

The match has been called off. The visitors have all been sent home, and everyone who has worked in the tournament is gathered together to hear Ness speak out. "I was going to pick up Lucas, since we were supposed to watch the finals together. But already before I got to his home, I felt that something was wrong. And I was right. I found him like this." Ness points on the trophified Lucas. "I was shocked really. And then, then I came over this." He points towards the other trophy of Olimar. "He was a trophy too and... I don't know. They're not returning to normal when I touch their trophy stands."

This prompts Mario to check, and indeed, neither Olimar nor Lucas returns to normal. "Hrhm..." Mario tilts over Olimar and examines the stand. "Huh? What's this..." Beneath the stand is a large sticker in the shape of Crazy Hand. "I see..."

"So someone killed Lucas and Olimar. But who was it?" Someone in the crowd yells.

"Yeah, whomever it was, we're gonna make him pay!"

"People, people. Calm down." Kirby pleads. "Let's not do something hasty."

However, his words fall on deaf ears. The congregation is furious and out for blood.

And so, Day 1 begins.

I don't want to be accused of lurking and not posting, so here I am!

Mann, Arix got killed already... So.
You win with the Big Four. If they collapse, you can win with the Loyalists or the Kids.
So, I assume any Brawl characters = town, and there are sub groups?

Ok...let's see then.

1. Pikachu/Link/Mario/Kirby. It doesn't look like they're the scum from the flavour text. But they presumably won't want to tell us who they are anyway or they'd all claim day 1. I'm going to assume that won't happen, though if I'm wrong, fine. Maybe something bad happens to the town if they die. Or maybe they're a second scum group - in a game this size it wouldn't surprise me (see also carebears vs. my little pony).
2. Not really getting the NPC thing..."excuse to start the mafia"? Was that in case the scum didn't kill Arix?
3. No hint as to what the scum group actually is. It could be "runner up" protagonists like Luigi, or something. Or it could be villain characters like Ganondorf. What is this thing about a crazy hand? Is that from the series? (I played melee years and years ago.)

I'm gonna avoid random voting today. Since it's a day 1 after a night 1, someone should have info they can reveal. I'll be treating anyone random voting after actual discussion starts as hiding from the content, I guess.

Oh, interesting. I guess that would make them a weird kind of subgroup, unless lots of other people have that exact same line (I don't.)

I won't random vote, since I won't check this for almost 20 hours after this.

Crazy Hand, not sure, but he's one of the bad guys in the single player campaign version (if you can call it a campaign). I know Master Hand was the bad guy in the N64 version. I don't own Melee or Brawl.

I assume scum = creatures from brawl single player that you killllll.

On Smash balls and Sand bags.

Once a day, you can post in bold on the forums Smash Sandbag or Smash Smashball. If you smash sandbag, you'll get an item. That item can be anything from your favourite food, which does nothing, to assist trophies and pokeballs, which can do almost anything. If you smash the Smashball, you have a chance of breaking it, and get the power of the smashball. You can use that to perform a final smash (effect varies depending on person) or activate the daily event. Both Sandbag and Smashball disappear when someone breaks the Smashball. So with that.

I'm guesing, if the Big Four die, then all hell breaks loose and then it's every group for himself? maybe to claim the trophy for themselves?
But you know... I'm sure everyone would have a sub group, except the Big Four and scum... dun dun dun.

Crazy Hand is a bad guy, yeah. I think he's related to Master Hand somehow. So I think the scum of this game will be the NPC bad guys from Brawl, rather than the bad guys you can play as, like Ganondorf or Wolf or whatever.

SMASH SANDBAG!!!!!!!!

So you can EITHER smash sandbag or ball? Not both in the same day> ? okay. I don't think my Final Smash would be very useful for now, so I'll hold off trying to get that.

Ok. Were the bad guys from brawl NPCs from other games or just stuff made up specially for Brawl?

And uhh...Smash sandbag I guess...this seems like it'll get cluttered fast.

Yeah. I originally intended the game to start on day 1, so I had drafted up Olimar as an excuse for everyone to start killing. It also allows me to use the names of all smashers without revealing who has players behind them.

Otherwise, NPCs will be what Pokeballs and Assist trophies summon.

I think they were made up specially for Brawl. But I'm not 100% on that, since there's some obscure Japanese game heroes in Brawl, so why not villains too?

Ok...gotcha. So I guess we should be wary of anyone that doesn't belong to their own franchise.

Dai hits the smashball. It's sent flying, but remains strong.

Solanis smashes sandbag and gets a beamsword. Good in a brawl, and for breaking someone else's item.

Shiri smashes sandbag and gets a pokeball. Who does it contain?

He said he didn't have that exact same line, so maybe he's loyal to a different subgroup?
