I really enjoyed this game, personally.
Though, the reaction here has me thinking that the game I'm planning will not be liked so now I'm thinking of bowing out of running it.

Rather than that, you should probably just make it obvious to any would-be participants that it's not actually mafia so much as an amorphous mafia-like forum game. It's kind of enjoyable on its own merits and plenty of people have fun with it.

I'll do that then and hope enough folks wanna give it a shot.

Kira, a list of items and Final Smashes would be nice too!

P.S As good as Daganev's scum sensor was this game, the votes 3 and 4 reasoning was actually wrong; we had no intention of jumping on the bandwagon in that specific fashion, we just thought we'd rather like to get him out of the way and since normally no-one can resist mauling Daganev because of the confusing nonsense (usually) he throws out, saw a good opportunity. The vote order was coincidental.
The theory behind 3/4 votes is subconcious, not on purpose. So it always appears to be "coincidental"

I still very very very very much dislike that I was sent a PM that said when I copied Furien's powers: You have daykill immunity FOLLOWED BY a message while I was asleep clarifying that it was only immunity to certain types of attacks and Shamarah killing me with one of those special attacks.
If a mod screw up like that, he or she shouldn't hold the player responsible. I didn't copy anyone other than Furien because I figured total day kill immunity was probably the best I was going to get.

That really made no difference, right? You didn't know Furien had total immunity when you chose to eat him, so even if it was inconsistent, your choice was already locked by the time the first inconsistent message came in. You really lost nothing.
EDIT: Daganev, your claim is that it's something to do with feeling it's safe to jump on at that point. But we would have jumped on at any point, it's just that the information came up then and the timing was like that.
Daganev2009-03-03 15:42:39
so a few things. 1. the scum did really well. Except for R.O.B, all of you could have roleclaimed and be believed that you arn't scum. Infact you did. I targeted 2 people as scum, and only stopped thinking they were scum because of the roleclaim. However, all the scum people I did find, was based purely on post analysis. Need to learn to trust the post analysis more than the roleclaim!
And yeah, I wasn't as powerfull as I said I was. I only had 1 shot items, and my shield didn't protect me against mafia kills. However at the end, I did get a second use of my wings.

Nope. I didn't die until day 2. According to a PM on clarification, I kept the power until I used it OR I spat it out and recopied another person. As I was under the assumption I had daykill immunity, it influenced my behavior somewhat. It also stopped me from copying a new power on day 2 because I was saving it.
Narsrim2009-03-03 15:45:40
Do bear in mind that my copy power doubled as a mini-investigation skill too as I could verify their role somewhat and see at least a partial version of their powers. I refrained from bringing that to light because yet again, I was under the assumption I had daykill immunity.
Also if you read my role, it says if I didn't copy THAT DAY, I also had nightkill immunity so I assumed for day 2 I had daykill immunity and sans copying someone else, I would likewise have nightkill immunity.

it's a bit complicated and subtle.
Basically, you aren't going to be the first 2 because of being worried that the train won't stick, and you look to pushy to get it to stick. But if you wait too long, you are concerned there won't be enough momentum. Part of the pyschology is that once 4 people do something, it's perceived as "the whole group" doing something, and so the train happens. But none of that supposed decision making is concious decisions, it's all subconscious stuff.
Daganev2009-03-03 15:46:47
oh, sending out roles now.
Fania2009-03-03 16:31:08
Aww, It's over? I was having so much fun too. Oh well, I'll go play Dag's game, then! It was fun guys. I liked the powers they were fun, also the chance of recruiting characters, nice. Does that happen often in Mafia games?
Daganev2009-03-03 16:31:53
Not the way it was done in this game. Sometimes there are cults, but this game didn't have any cults.

I'm actually curious how Fania was able to let us escape too. All I did was suggest to her that she might be able to blast us out of there. Imagine my surprise.
After I broke out, I was sure to tell Kira that I wanted everyone to come with me. I wasn't about to leave without you guys!
Shiri2009-03-03 16:34:31
Actually, it does happen every so often. The carebears game had Karnagan recruitable by the witches.
Cults, for the record, are totally different: it starts as 1 guy, and can recruit a person every night (if they try to hit a scum they die.) They're pretty vicious since they're silent so you only find out about them when it's too late or a scum kills someone by accident (or the investigator finds one.)

Casilu2009-03-03 18:07:15
My question is what determined my ability to keep them for longer than the night?
Kiradawea2009-03-03 18:14:29
Rebels, Big Four (except Pikachu) and Scum would all manage to break out. Fania did nothing to help the group out, I just gave them some flavour to play with seeing that they were slated to be out the morning after you died anyway.

Way to diminish my role in the whole thing. From what I understood I was the one who got us out.
Daganev2009-03-03 19:43:48
Did you do anything to get you out? It's just flavor!
Arix2009-03-03 22:29:16
What the , I had like 4 different people target me. You could have just sent me a message saying 'don't bother signing up, we're just going to gank you because of last game'.
