Comes out today! My copy should arrive tomorrow or Monday...we should play online (PS3 version here.)

I am looking forward to playing Guile again far more than I should. Sonic boom!
Shiri2009-02-20 13:26:59
When I was a little kid I used to play Blanka and Dhalsim because they were the most interesting amongst a bunch of boring human clowns, but having not played this series in years and given experience with GGXX I'll probably just figure out which plays most like Chipp/Jam/Millia and roll with that. Maybe Vega.

Chun Li!

Chun Li was my favorite character way back when. She ruled.

My thumb hurts. It's a pity the Mad Catz tournament edition stick had a limited run and even though I pre-ordered, I still ended up with a back order.

Where are you?

I think in general when it comes to game peripherals its is more cost efficient to buy the cheaper product and replace it when it breaks. (when one costs $20 and the other $150)

To each their own, I prefer the higher priced model if it is sufficiently reviewed as a superior product. Nearly every gaming site/magazine has said that this is the best arcade stick to date. Proper weighting, responsive buttons with no "CLICK CLICK" on depressing them, etc.

Does it have an esitamated life span? Even the best arcade machines have broken buttons.

is SS4 out in the arcades? I might have to go arcade hunting again.

I probably won't get it. Although I love fighting games, the online is never very good (for some reason they ALL lag). I've heard both people have to have fantastic connections for there to be no lag, which would just end up being frustrating, and I wouldn't have anyone to play it with not online, and fighting the computer is always boring.

I would like to get an arcade stick for my PS2. Learn to be awesome at Guilty Gear, SF third strike, SF II, MvC2, and Virtua Fighter.

I own a lot of fighting games. o_O

I played a lot of red bar latency fights and only one seemed like my moves were getting clipped, honestly the net code for sf4 seems to be fantastic. Even high latency games the prediction is great, haven't had any trouble at all. Guile's super is still the worst on a dpad though. Pain.

Hmm, interesting.

On that note: I -cannot- use the dpad. I always use the analog stick. I've tried to learn using the dpad since I have heard it can be superior, but it always feels like my thumb is getting the skin scrapped off of it after a while. And some of the more complicated patterns just feel impossible to do by sliding your thumb around. The analog feels more true to an arcade stick also.

Which is why you buy an arcade stick. I'm just dpadding until they get them back in stock.

I never had a problem with dpad, but then I never really played anything at a high level. That said, if the experience of playing SF4 on wireless is acceptable I'll definitely be getting Blazblue when that comes out. And I'd get ^core if it was on PS3.

Hand cramping but in the top 10k now. I played a ton of computer matches and went straight to live, sucked it up bad last night. Went like 3-12 before I pulled my head out of my ass and started playing like I was playing against people. Now I'm around 54-22 or so, back in the groove. Going to be a long walk to top 20 though, at 30-70 points per game. Definitely lost a couple because my thumb was too sore/tired to bang out Guile's retarded-action super flashkick. Dpadding charged db to df to db to uf is brutal, sometimes even with crisp movement the dpad gives you a straight down or forward and cancels the combo.
Yrael2009-02-21 06:00:01
I'd forgotten about how difficult some of Guile's charge attacks were to pull off. Just makes it more satisfying to dump a special combo in someone's face. Especially that bloody prick Dhalsim.
Arix2009-02-21 06:41:16
POST-INDIAN FOOD SPECIAL ATTACK!

YOGA FIRE!!!
Shiri2009-02-21 09:36:58
Ok, it just arrived, if any of you have it on PS3 ping me and we'll try and set up a match if it'll let us.
Dai2009-02-21 10:26:32
God, time flies. I didn't think it was out for a while yet. Guess I'll be picking up the 360 version today!
Shiri2009-02-21 11:19:29
Man I suck at this. What happened to combos?!
