Long story short, I be Illithoid. I have the urge to reincarnate to Faeling, mostly for RP Reasons. I Feel its KINDA obvious from the basic, up front numbers that this a huge nerf in Combat ability (I.E. Free Puissant Knight goes away.))

Is it not as Extreme as I think it is, or would it really be that bad?

Don't. All you gain (besides whatever the RP is) is speed. You lose a crapload of life. As for the arti, don't trade it in. I cry every time I think about trading in my pantograph because "Then I can influence, and buy it back sometime."

No. Don't.

He's not talking about the artifact itself, he's talking about the Illithoid bonus.

She. I think staying Illie would be better, from experience. Tankiness is close to godliness.

Question answered then. <3 Casilu

From what I've noticed, dexterity doesn't really mean much past a certain (low) point. There's virtually 0 difference between 16-20 dexterity in terms of wounding/damage. With Limber/Agility, just pick a tank race with dexterity high enough that you can push it to 14-ish.

The increases in effects of stats peak at 19-20 and 20-21, I believe.

17 and 21 are the "huge breakpoints" from our testing. At least for strength, the other stats didn't seem to spike that way. Int sure as hell doesn't on staff. Pchew pchew, lasers.

Weird. I remember one of the admin saying it was 20 after racial rebalancing.

They're pretty accurate, remember when you said 14 actually broke it and decreased wounds and for a week they didn't believe you... or how wounds per hit are "random", gigglefits.

That's true. I have a faint recollection of testing it after too, though. May just be imagining it.

Faeling Tau... Hmm.

Anyway, was thinking reincarnating from an Illithod Nekotai to a Lobo for a a change in gameplay + RP. Stats seem comparable (same cumulative dex+str, and equal con), but obviously I would miss out on some utilities. What are the major mechanical changes from going from Illithoid Nekotai to Lobo? What would I miss the most being a non-Illithoid (other than the RP)?

I loved the weapon stats and mindsense and the language thing. I'd stay Illie, just so you can deal with those novices that only speak their racial language without getting a translator.

Illithiod should also translate leetspeak and acronym/psudo-acronym speak as well, to help with that kind of novice.

Oh my... and I thought novices that refused to capitalise their 'I's and first letters of the sentences were bad.

Before KA and momentum I was able to rip through astral and the undervault rather fast as a faeling, but don't know so much now
