Prospective Organizations

Back to Common Grounds.

I am still in the market for a good guild and city. Originally I thought Magnagora and the Ninjakari would have been my style but... it does not feel like anyone is approachable. It may because I have rarely been around during peak time lately, but the Engine does not strike me as very receptive and this prompts me to reconsider. So I was thinking Glomdoring. I am not sure if the grass there will be any greener, however, or just more brown. Celest and Serenwilde are much too crowded for my preference and probably neither dark or gritty, as I like it. It is also important that I wind up somewhere that wants my help, where I can feel useful and productive.

I want to glean a little insight from experienced players.

Thanks.

If you play at off-peak times, you're probably going to find Glomdoring even worse than Magnagora, as it's probably the smallest organization in terms of players. In my opinion there's no reason to rule out Celest/Serenwilde just because you like to play darker, grittier characters. There's plenty of zealots and crusaders to be found everywhere, you just have to find the right motivation!

Vhaas, I have actually heard that elsewhere from others about Mag not really being 'approachable' from player perspectives. It just really depends on what you are looking to do. If you are into RP there are a few venues/groups to do such, creativity can be shown in the library or play, and combat has quite a few groups of varying commitment to that. Just ask around and most of all for Magnagora just put yourself out there, get into doing things with people. Ask others if they want to hunt or if you can join a hunt. Go for spars. And if you took one, talk to your mentor about the things you like to do and see if he can direct you around.

Celest has a special, subtle brand of 'darkness'. You just have to look for it.

Sorry, the Ninjakari are a bit understaffed right now. But if you need something, you can always ask me, or send me a message here.

And seeing as you are 105% my might, and Trans in four skills plus high in a few others, I would think you knew your way around.

He's 1105% of my might. I feel so sad. sad.gif

Edit: Wait, I'm so silly. I'm on an alt. doh.gif Still, he's got higher might than me as well. Darn it.

Inter-organizational knowledge can be a bit low at times.

I must agree with Aoife ... though its not the traditional gritty darkness ... you can always try to roleplay a brooding dark soldier of the Light or an all-out zealot let's kill everything opposed to us. Just because New Celest follows the Light doesn't mean everybody here is chipper and prone to fits of unnecessary joy.
Razenth2009-02-22 08:17:39
...Although I've found more of the chipper joy type since I came back to the game... where have all the no-compromise fanatic Lighters gone!?

If you ever need help in Mag, feel free to ask.

I did pay for the whole butter thing, after all.

Yes, Jigan does pull off the whole "mad Geomancer" bit quite well biggrin.gif.

Jigan hasn't changed from being a Paladin.

No, "understaffed" is good in my book. It says there is room to be productive. I would rather be in a completely empty guild without any help, than another with 10+ members online at most times and a constant barrage of novices, which ultimately means the former but with more spam.

Since I can't find it in my role to switch guilds or cities reasonably I will sit on my hands and enjoy where I am, probably keeping to myself which fits me IC and suits me out. Aside from the crowding, Celest or Serenwilde would probably be poor choices for Vhaas since we wanted to take the "amoral knowledge-seeker" approach to life in Lusty.

Thanks for the input. Invaluable.

Plenty of room for that in every org smile.gif.

Awww, I really enjoyed talking with you Vhaas. I just want you to know, you asked me the question no Glomdorian player wants to be asked:

'What is the Wyrd.'

*mushroom cloud appears*

Heh, it's just as hard as explaining "What is Nature?". The best conversations are the ones in which I have to try and explain what Taint, Light, Wyrd, and Nature are. explode.gif

Not at all. "Amoral knowledge-seeker" can easily be done in every single organization. I'm not saying to give up what you have, but you shouldn't let that stop you if you want to change.

Light and Taint are easy.
