Both monk and warriors are loved and hated in group combat. Monks have many ways to overwhelm the opposition with afflictions, while warriors are great for just standing around and soaking up damage while dishing out a lot in return. Personally, I'd say that you should make your choice based on this.
Do you want to be a silent, snakelike shard of a soulless entity who wants to devour the world. Do you want to swing around a chain and yank people of the ground while you hide in the shadows to pounce upon the unwary.
Or
Do you want to be a huge monster wielding a massive sword who can cleave his enemies in two. Do you want to be a powerful warrior who can take hit after hit and still keep on fighting like an unstoppable killing machine.
Make your choice. No matter what you choose, I doubt you'll be disappointed.

It is hard to say what the future of monks is right now. There are apparently some momentum changes going through soon. Hopefully half of you went to be the class for the love of the guilds and the RP that comes associated with it, instead of the epiclulz of 'lolinstalock'.
That being said, Warrior has by far been my favorite experience in Lusternia (except for the forging that comes associated with it), but it is a fun-filled class. Mostly because it reminds me a fair bit of Vagrant Story's combat a little bit of attacking limbs and doing different states of 'health' damage to them, doing a variety of effects if they've reached a certain level of damage. Plus, it suits my Moon zealot RP to do Serenguard. The guild itself is fantastic aside from the drama that arises sometimes. But, it's a guild that actually does something and maintains a very close-knit structure and roleplay. Cheers to them.

From my experience, monks are an easier class to work with if you don't have many credits available while warriors require a great many
