A few logs I've collected of race-based RP, exploring what part race plays in defining identity. Long period of time covered here, so there's some character growth as well. Some of this might border on racy or snuggly, so consider yourself warned.

Log #1
A very young Sadhyra, visiting her first revolt, in Paavik.
Age: 16
==========================
La la la la, exploring about to find out what this revolt thingy is!
Esano:
He is a fiendish undead master viscanti and stands at just over six feet tall. His skin is bright red, with darker variations, leading to occasional blotchy areas or curiously twisted patterns. It has a slightly pebbled quality, especially across the backs of his hands and up his lower arms, as if scales or armoured plates are caught beneath. His hair is straight and black, falling to just above his shoulder. His eyes are deep brown, almost black, and a small pair of horns the colour of obsidian curl up from his forehead.
Sadhyra:
She is a graceful Elfen and seems barely on the cusp of womanhood, her tall, willowy form still slender and only beginning to develop gentle curves. Long, ebony hair frames the petite features of her face, the tresses bound up in an elaborate coif, curled and pinned back in an elegant display.
Silver-streaked locks swirling through the updo highlight glints of pale gray in her ice-blue eyes, the color bright with a hint of liquid shimmer. Pale and wide, the orbs sit in arresting contrast to her dusky, olive-hued skin, emphasizing high cheekbones and the sweep of her race's distinctive, pointed ears.
Ironworks.
The corrosiveness of the taint sickens the land. Uriach Vaaginko is here, sticking a poker in the
forge and wiping the sweat from his brow. Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer is here, shrouded. He wields a twisted staff in his left hand and a batwing shaped shield in his right.
You see a single exit leading west (open door).
You see the following people here:
Esano, Sadhyra
Uriach Vaaginko enjoys an extremely sensuous disposition. He is contemplating where his loyalties should lie.
Esano inclines his head politely to you.
You say, "You made the poor blacksmith sensuous? That sounds rather hazardous, considering the tools he uses."
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer says, "Oh, no. He's always like that."
You wrinkle your nose in distaste.
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer says, "Tervic, however, made him want to be Celestian."
Esano gives a pained sigh.
You say, "And you are claiming it otherwise?"
A violent tremor rocks the land, causing the earth to shake and the ground to buck beneath your feet.
You say, "Did you make the earthquake too?"
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer says, "But quite a large number of the citizens are sensuous. It raises questions."
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer says, "No, Veracruz is holding the demesne."
You hide a grin behind your hand.
You say, "Ah I see. Like the druid ones."
A chicken jumps out of Veracruz's hands!
A chicken jumps out of Veracruz's hands!
A chicken jumps out of Veracruz's hands!
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer says, "Veracruz, stop picking up the damn chickens. Let them run."
You say, "I do hope they are not sensuous as well."
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer says, "The chickens? I would certainly hope not."
You say, "Well, you never know. Could be something in the water."
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer says, "I can't remember what the ghosts are."
You say, "The ones uphill? They are the old Paavik nobles."
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer says, "No, I meant their disposition."
You say, "Dead, I'd wager."
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer says, "I mean, does being a ghost remove such sensuousness?"
You snicker softly to yourself.
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer says to you, "I'm dead too. Kind of."
You say to Esano, "You're a bit more tangible."
Glaring at Esano, you prod him repeatedly, showing your frustration.
You nod your head emphatically.
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer says, "Mm."
The local campaign here fades out.
A campaign is able to be made here once more.
Esano declares this location to be under a crusade on behalf of the Mighty Dominion of Magnagora.
You say, "Campaign!"
You say, "This is educational."
You say, "You can tell me to scram if I'm annoying you."
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer says, "Oh no, it's fine."
You say, "Is Veracruz going to fight you?"
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer says, "I'd just be standing here analysing him every now and again otherwise."
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer says, "Of course not. We're on the same side."
Comprehension flashes across your face.
You say, "Is anyone from Celest going to fight?"
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer says, "I doubt it. Tervic was around earlier, but he's in Celest."
You say, "Pity, I wanted to see some bloodshed."
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer says, "He's the one who got these few villagers, hiding behind a group of Serens and a sanctuary crusade."
You say, "Err, that wasn't an invitation to attack me, either."
Esano grins mischievously at you.
You shift your eyes suspiciously from side to side.
Esano gives you the once over.
You glance over Esano and see that his health is at 4222/4222.
: Mindblast! Watch Ego!
You say, "Ouch."
You say, "So you have to capture the villagers back?"
You say, "By...flirting with them, or something?"
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer says, "Once they decide to listen again, we can influence them to follow Magnagora."
You peer at Esano unscrupulously.
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer says, "I use a combination of shock, awe and brainwashing."
You say, "Pity you're ugly. Best use force."
You nod your head emphatically.
Esano looks about himself suspiciously.
Esano passes his hands over his face and changes from a fiendish viscanti to a nimble faeling before your eyes.
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer inspects himself.
You hide a grin behind your hand.
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer says, "Doesn't really suit me, does it?"
You say, "Now you're a bat/bug/thing."
You say, "Your humour is too caustic to be a nimble thing with gossamer wings."
You say, "I daresay you'd melt them."
You say, "Then again, these guys only have one eye, so..."
: Telepathic Domination
You weave a glamour around yourself, which solidifies into the form of a fiendish viscanti.
New description:
She is a fiendish viscanti and is clearly suffering from a glamour imposed on her. Crimson shadows
cast a murky pallor over her normally dusky skin, while her ebony hair seems to waver under close
inspection, almost writhing in a serpentine movement. A pair of crooked horns peek up through the
tresses, while her willowy body appears far more sensually curved.
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer says, "Much better!"
You narrow your eyes to thin slits.
You say, "Ugh. Do I have horns?"
You have emoted: Sadhyra frowns in alarm.
Tapping his own, Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer says, "Horns are nice!"
You scowl miserably.
In a whisper, you say, "Maybe you should slip him some money."
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer whispers, "He's sensuous, not greedy."
You get 2 gold sovereigns from a black leather and silk backpack.
You say to Esano, "Bat your eyelashes when you do it?"
You flutter your eyelashes at Uriach Vaaginko.
Uriach Vaaginko raises an eyebrow at you.
Esano flutters his eyelashes at Uriach Vaaginko.
Uriach Vaaginko raises an eyebrow at Esano.
You give 2 gold sovereigns to Uriach Vaaginko.
Esano mutters discontentedly.
You have emoted: Sadhyra wiggles her hips from side to side, raising a significant eyebrow at the krokani.
You say, "Try now."
You tap your nose knowingly.
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer says to Uriach Vaaginko, "Come on, you know Magnagora is the right choice!"
You whisper to Esano, "I slipped him your vague address. I think that'll be what seals the deal."
You nod your head sagely.
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer whispers to you, "What, "Magnagora, Engine of Transformation, somewhere in there"?"
You say to Esano, "I told him to just follow the trail of "ugly" - but I suppose he'll get to the right place in the end."
You quickly duck down.
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer says to you, "You never know. Glomdoring's on the way."
You say to Esano, "I'll stand at the entrance. That'll certainly ensure he keeps heading north."
You have emoted: Sadhyra preens vainly.
You say, "This is rather less exciting than it's been made out to be."
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer says to you, "Indeed. Running in the right direction, at least."
You narrow your eyes at Esano in an unnerving manner.
You say, "Nobody would run from me!"
Esano gestures at you, and bright lights flicker before your eyes.
You are:
AFF stars
blind.
deaf.
DEF insomnia
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer says, "There. Exciting?"
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer says to you, "Here's my impression of you."
You narrow your eyes to thin slits.
Esano raises his hands and a hideous monstrosity rises up from the ground and looms over you. It
stares at you with bulging eyes and dozens of scabrous claws. This nightmare then opens its massive maw, which drips with thick mucus and reveals rows of dagger-like teeth, and a primal fear surges up the length of your spine.
Archly, you say, "But your type fancy that sort of thing, so really, it's a compliment."
You say, "...sort of..."
You say, "...I guess..."
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer says, "Mmm. Not really my type."
You say, "Ah, you prefer...his type?"
You say, "All...maleish and so?"
You weave your illusion.
Uriach turns towards you, raising his eyebrow in languid interest.
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer says to you, "If the alternative is you ... then yes."
You have emoted: Sadhyra quietly backs away, leaving you two with a bit more intimacy.
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer says, "Ah, one of the others has finally opened up. Perhaps Uriach will be more amiable soon."
You begin to follow Esano.
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer says, "You wish to see?"
You say, "Please."
Wrapping an arm around Nikolai, the Paavik Merchant, Melville whispers into his ear.
Nikolai, the Paavik Merchant slaps his knee and declares that, by the gods, the Village of Paavik
should follow the Mighty Dominion of Magnagora after all!
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer says, "Only caught the end of it."
You follow Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer east to ironworks.
You say, "They are rather wishy-washy, these villagers."
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer says, "Mm."
You say, "Why not just kill a few of their wives and children?"
You say, "Show them with more than words."
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer says, "Because then they tend to run away, looking for 'protection'"
Uriach Vaaginko blinks and shuffles about impatiently.
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer says, "Before we can convince them that they can't be protected against us..."
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer says, "AH."
You say, "Not if you bar the gates..."
Esano shocks Uriach Vaaginko with tales of terror bestowed on villages who don't follow Magnagora.
Uriach Vaaginko asks Esano what type of celebrations and parties the Village of Paavik would expect
if it were to follow the Mighty Dominion of Magnagora.
Esano tells Uriach Vaaginko of awesome powers granted villages by the might of Magnagora.
Uriach Vaaginko asks Esano what type of celebrations and parties the Village of Paavik would expect
if it were to follow the Mighty Dominion of Magnagora.
You say to Esano, "SEE - just mention of killing kids and he plays right along."
Esano tells Uriach Vaaginko of awesome powers granted villages by the might of Magnagora.
Uriach Vaaginko asks Esano what type of celebrations and parties the Village of Paavik would expect
if it were to follow the Mighty Dominion of Magnagora.
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer says, "You can see that all he's interested in are parties."
You say, "What a fop."
You say, "Did you get his support? Seems like he found you impressive."
Maker of Mountains, Veracruz d'Murani, the Muddy Scourge says, "Who."
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer says, "Yes."
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer says, "Uriach."
Varkasha Blachini enjoys an extremely sensuous disposition. She is contemplating where her loyalties should lie.
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer says to you, "See, she's sensuous too. And right across the road from Uriach."
You have emoted: Sadhyra nods significantly at Esano.
You say, "I think we know what happens after all these parties, mmhmm."
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer says, "Or during them."
You hide a grin behind your hand.
Veracruz taps his foot with mild impatience.
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer says to Varkasha Blachini, "The quicker you decide to follow Magnagora, the quicker you can get back to the parties, celebrations and Uriach."
Shouts rise up from the Village of Paavik, as its denizens loudly pledge themselves to the Mighty
Dominion of Magnagora.
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer says, "Well, that took long enough."
Daedin claps his hands together merrily.
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer says, "I'll taint whatever remains flooded."
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer says to you, "This is perhaps slightly less boring, but still rather mind-numbing."
Thick, oily smoke pours out of the mouth of Esano and creates an ankle-deep carpet of seething black fog. As the smoke is soaked into the ground, the area turns putrid and foul. This location is now tainted.
You say, "Ah, now, I wondered what all this was."
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer says, "Aquamancers can only raise demesnes on water or flooded land. We can only place it on tainted land, whether it be tainted by its own nature or by our magics."
You say, "Ah, I see."
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer says, "Blacktalon can only do it on wyrden forest, Hartstone on sylvan forest."
You say, "All makes sense now."
Blinking upwards in a scowl at her illusory horns, you say, "What is the cost to taint?"
You say, "Just some mana and time?"
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer says, "One power, and fifty mana."
You say, "Oh that's rough."
You say, "Considering how many areas..."
You say, "What do you do in arenas?"
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer says, "In an arena, you regain the power when you leave, so it's not
so bad."
You say, "Ah, true."
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer says, "All tainted."
Lazily, you say, "Well, congratulations on your victory. No need to thank me for my help."
Esano's mouth turns up as his face breaks into a smile.
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer says, "Oh, your presence was appreciated."
You nod your head sagely.
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer says, "It stopped me from bashing Uriach's head in with my staff."
You say, "The threat of babies dying - that's what turned the balance."
You give a trillingly melodic laugh.
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer says, "I'll be sure to try it in future."
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer says, "Especially in Stewartsville ... there's a baby there to use as an example ..."
You narrow your eyes at Esano in an unnerving manner.
You say, "Perhaps your city should stick with chickens, on second thought."
Esano raises an eyebrow at you.
You say, "Isn't that what the other man was doing? Capturing chickens for ransom?"
You say, "Or...just from a fondness for their feathery forms?"
Attendant Esano, Ire's Hammer says, "I think he was capturing them because them running in and out was driving him mad."
You say, "Mad with sensuality. Odd little village."
You give Esano a respectful salute.
Esano inclines his head politely to you.
(la la la back to Glom)
You speedwalk south to before the Master Ravenwood Tree.
You have reached your destination.
You see the following people here:
Makira, Tacita, Ishant, Sadhyra
You scowl miserably.
Makira tilts his head and listens intently to you.
Makira Nightshade, Ward of Shadows says, "How went the revolt?"
In a petulant voice, you say, "Esano made me a viscanti."
Makira Nightshade, Ward of Shadows says, "Must have been a horror."
Ishant, Dervish of the Eclipse says, "How did he do that?"
You have emoted: Sadhyra crosses her arms over her chest, narrowing her eyes at the illusory horns rising from her head. "Yes, it's awful," she whines. "I'm UGLY."
Jayde De'Unnero says, "Tch..hardly.."
With a sigh, you say, "They won, in any case."
Ishant, Dervish of the Eclipse sticks out his tongue and says, "Just get a Harbinger to dispel it."
Makira ponders you thoughtfully, looking you up and down.
Makira Nightshade, Ward of Shadows says to you, "You still look rather good as a Viscanti."
You have emoted: Sadhyra snorts arrogantly. "I look far better as an elf!" she sulks.
Ishant nods his head at Makira.
Ishant, Dervish of the Eclipse says, "You know some Viscanti were once Elfen too."
You say to Ishant, "They were?"
Ishant nods his head at you.
You tilt your head curiously at Ishant.
You say, "What happened?"
Ishant, Dervish of the Eclipse says, "All Visacanti were another race at one time, since their race is basically a continued breeding to enchance mutation."
Ishant, Dervish of the Eclipse says, "Project Cosmic Hope did."
You wrinkle your nose in distaste.
Makira Nightshade, Ward of Shadows says, "Breeding to breed mutation?"
Ishant, Dervish of the Eclipse says, "It mutated all those in Magnagora."
Makira Nightshade, Ward of Shadows says, "Such a weird race."
Makira Nightshade, Ward of Shadows says, "Those Magnagorans must be not right in the head."
Ishant, Dervish of the Eclipse says, "It started out that way I imagine."
Ishant, Dervish of the Eclipse says, "But now they do intermarry with other races."
Your illusion of being viscanti fades away.
You weave a glamour around yourself, which solidifies into the form of a bullish taurian.
New description:
She is a bullish taurian and clearly suffering from a backfired glamour. Her willowy frame is
overlaid with the menacing image of a fierce bull, complete with wide ears and swooping horns. Her
pert nose has elongated into a snout, complete with a brass ring pierced through the middle. Long
hair, instead of sitting in its normal elaborate updo, falls down her back in a crude mane, while
her fingers appear to almost resemble hooves.
"Eep!", you scream in fright.
Ishant's mouth turns up as his face breaks into a smile.
You say, "OH NO."
Makira ponders you thoughtfully, looking you up and down.
Ishant, Dervish of the Eclipse says, "You did look much better as a Viscanti."
Makira Nightshade, Ward of Shadows says, "I'm not so sure."
Makira Nightshade, Ward of Shadows says, "She has quite a.... bullish figure."
You have emoted: Sadhyra flaps her arms in a panic, screeching, "I messed it up, somehow!" Glancing down at her hand-hooves, she yelps again, nearly fainting.
The corners of Ishant's mouth turn up as he grins mischievously.
You say, "Oh gods, this has gone from bad to worse!"
Ishant, Dervish of the Eclipse says, "I think it more willowy, but I may be wrong."
Makira ponders you for a moment and says "Hrm..."
You have emoted: Sadhyra stomps her feet, glancing behind her. "A TAIL?!" she cries, her eyes rolling up in her head, as she faints dead away, the brass ring in her snout clinking against the ground with an illusory yet near-audible thud.
Makira Nightshade, Ward of Shadows says, "At least you're not an Illithoid."
The fleshy maw on Makira's sternum loosens and begins to shudder and twitch, before tightening once more.
Makira Nightshade, Ward of Shadows says, "So it is bad, but it could be far worse."
Ishant, Dervish of the Eclipse says to Makira, "You dislike your kind?"
Makira Nightshade, Ward of Shadows says to Ishant, "I didn't say that, but we are rather ugly."
Makira Nightshade, Ward of Shadows says to Ishant, "It helps scare people when we creep up on them."
Ishant, Dervish of the Eclipse says to Makira, "Your mother is an exception I thought?"
Ishant, Dervish of the Eclipse hides his grin at Sadhyra's antics.
Midnight's Jester, Rantyr, Murmur in the Dark says, "What passes?"
You have emoted: Sadhyra suddenly comes to with a dramatic yelp. "Am I...still...?" she mumbles.
You have emoted: Sadhyra peers down at her hooves, shrieking again. "No, no, this won't do!" she mutters, waving her hand-hoof-things to dispel the glamour.
Midnight's Jester, Rantyr, Murmur in the Dark says, "Oh, are we playing with illusions again?"
Your illusion of being taurian fades away.
You weave a glamour around yourself, which solidifies into the form of a bouncing furrikin.
New description:
She is a bouncing furrikin and is little more than the image of a chittering squirrel. A wide bushy
tail rises up behind her, each hair of the glamour crafted in astounding detail. Tiny paws complete
the image, clutching before her as if waiting to hold a nut in hand.
You moan like a wailing banshee.
Rantyr grins mischievously at you.
Ishant, Dervish of the Eclipse says, "Just Sadhyra."
In a squeaking voice, you say, "Esano cursed me. I am TRYING to remove it!"
Makira Nightshade, Ward of Shadows says, "Sadhyra appears to be having a bit of trouble with control on her Illusion mastery."
Rantyr gives a horrified gasp.
Rantyr pets you ingratiatingly.
Midnight's Jester, Rantyr, Murmur in the Dark says to you, "You poor little thing."
You have emoted: Sadhyra turns towards Makira, narrowing her eyes. The illusory tail swings behind her in a menacing swish. "Hush you..." she growls, before jumping about in an about-face.
Ishant, Dervish of the Eclipse smiles and says, "It's more interesting that she believes the change changes what she really is."
You have emoted: Sadhyra bats her paws at Rantyr. "No petting!" she chirps. "I'm not a...furry...thing!"
Midnight's Jester, Rantyr, Murmur in the Dark says, "Yes, you are."
Krin peers about himself unscrupulously.
You have emoted: Sadhyra snorts beneath her breath, concentrating once more on the illusion. "Belief is a rather powerful force," she says in a low voice, exhaling deeply, as a faint wisp of shadow forms around each hand.
With a simple gesture, you dispel an invisibility illusion on Sadhyra.
You become visible once more.
You mutter discontentedly.
With a simple gesture, you dispel a changeself illusion on Sadhyra.
Your illusion of being furrikin fades away.
Ard'Rhi Krin Kinsari takes a deep breath then exhales before he states. "They do not yet know the powah of the dark.. forest."
You have emoted: Sadhyra sighs softly, straightening her shoulders and standing at her full height. "THAT is more like it," she beams.
Rantyr nods his head emphatically.
Midnight's Jester, Rantyr, Murmur in the Dark says, "Yes."
Tossing her hair, you say, "It's so nice to be beautiful again."
The corners of Rantyr's mouth turn up as he grins mischievously.
Ishant smiles softly.
Makira Nightshade, Ward of Shadows says to you, "When were you anything but? It was just different kinds of beauties."
Ishant, Dervish of the Eclipse says, "I find it curious you assume beuaty doesn't transcend form."
Fondly, you say to Makira, "Spoken like one without any looks."
The corners of Ishant's mouth turn up as he grins mischievously.
The corners of Rantyr's mouth turn up as he grins mischievously.
Thoughtfully, you say to Krin, "When I was reading about Brother Crow, there were mentions of truth versus reality."
Ard'Rhi Krin Kinsari says, "False memory?"
You say, "I didn't really understand that, though - how can facts not be true?"
You nod your head at Krin.
Ishant, Dervish of the Eclipse says, "It's all in belief."
Makira Nightshade, Ward of Shadows says to you, "When one doesn't have looks, all they can do is admire those who have the best."
You say, "As a Taurian, I was ugly. As an elf I am not - that is a simple fact of form, isn't it?"
You flash Makira a joyous smile.
Ard'Rhi Krin Kinsari says, "Well once you transcend the need for memories you can hold on only to the ones that empower oneself."
You chew on your lip thoughtfully.
Slowly, you say, "But that's all rather subjective, isn't it?"
Ishant nods his head emphatically.
Ishant, Dervish of the Eclipse says, "I disagree with Krin though, memories should be valued."
Ard'Rhi Krin Kinsari says, "To the outside on-looker it would be. But to the one who knows his truth is the real one no."
You say, "I mean, yes, perhaps -I- believe one thing - but what's to say the villagers or a city or even our fellow commune members believe that as well?"
Ishant, Dervish of the Eclipse says, "It's also a matter of pride."
You say, "For example, I know I am a beautiful elf. Some..." pausing, she flashes a look at Tacita. "...some debate this.""
Ard'Rhi Krin Kinsari says to Ishant, "And that argument has been passed down more times then countable. I answer it thusly, you can never follow something completely this maybe something you just cannot grasp yet."
You say, "In the same vein, Makira thought me beautiful no matter what my form was, whereas I knew quite certainly I was not."
Ishant, Dervish of the Eclipse says, "As a commune we forget times of weakness to focus on times of greatness, the same as you focusing on times you look beautiful as opposed to after waking up disheaveled."
Tacita, Student of the Dark Harmony hovers upside down, looking oddly perplexed.
Makira Nightshade, Ward of Shadows says to Tacita, "Worry not, I'm also highly confused."
Ard'Rhi Krin Kinsari says, "Confusion is good, means your mind is working."
You have emoted: Sadhyra shrugs vaguely, her attention drifting as she begins to fuss with her hair. "Stupid mane..." she mutters beneath her breath.
You have emoted: Sadhyra brushes back a loose strand, mumbling to herself. "A tail!" you can faintly hear her grunt. "Really...!"
(blah blah talk about ideology and other stuff after this)

Silver-streaked locks swirling through the updo highlight glints of pale gray in her ice-blue eyes, the color bright with a hint of liquid shimmer. Pale and wide, the orbs sit in arresting contrast to her dusky, olive-hued skin, emphasizing high cheekbones and the sweep of her race's distinctive, pointed ears.

Log 2: An encounter between Krackenor and Sadhyra. Sadhyra has since changed into a Kephera, after being convinced that the power being a Queen would give is greater than simply being beautiful. She has adopted the characteristics of that race - including its inherent hatreds.
Age: 23
======================================
(Market): You say, "Looking for an enchanter to refill my cube."
Krackenor tells you, "I can assist."
(movement)
Centre of the Necropolis. (Capital City of the Mighty Province of Magnagora.)
You see the following people here:
Krackenor, Sadhyra
You give 10 glowing powerstones to Krackenor d'Murani, Maker of Mountains.
You give an energy cube to Krackenor d'Murani, Maker of Mountains.
You give 5000 gold sovereigns to Krackenor.
Krackenor makes a beckoning motion to no one in particular.
Krackenor d'Murani, Maker of Mountains says, "Care to join me? enchanting is a dull trade, and I find conversation greatly lightens the load."
You begin to follow Krackenor.
Krackenor nods his head emphatically.
(movement to enchanting room)
Krackenor begins to chant and holds his hands over an energy cube, which begins to glow.
Krackenor:
He is a regal aslaran and his body is incredibly pale and thin after spending years favoring the pen and book over the staff. He is shorter than average, even for others of his kind and barely comes up to most other's chests. Mottled purple-grey skin stretches tight over his bones accentuates the size of his head in proportion to the rest of his body. Eyes, milky white and acclimated to the darkness of the Undervault, constantly dart about, always searching for a threat. The web of veins at the base of his head pulse and throb to their own rhythm.
Krackenor d'Murani, Maker of Mountains says, "You were once y'Kaliath, no?"
You have emoted: Sadhyra shrugs absently, glancing up from the glowing cube. "Hmm?" she says.
You say, "Ah. Them."
You say, "Can't erase who birthed me, so I suppose I'm still part of...that...yes."
Wryly, you say, "Would be nice if we could unweave the unpleasant parts of our lives, eh?"
Krackenor d'Murani, Maker of Mountains says, "I knew your mother...long before you were born. When she was a Magnagoran."
With a faint smile, you say, "More stable?"
You say, "My father tells me she was always as self-centered as she is now..."
You shrug helplessly.
Pondering, Krackenor d'Murani, Maker of Mountains says, "I would say that she was at peace with herself."
Shrugging slightly, Krackenor d'Murani, Maker of Mountains says, "Things are not always as they appear."
With an amused chuckle, you say, "Geomancers would fail to see such things, wouldn't they?"
You say, "It is the aquamancers, I suppose, who know about the currents lurking beneath - stone is a very generous medium."
You say, "It gets angry, it rumbles."
A wry smile spreads across your face.
Krackenor d'Murani, Maker of Mountains says, "An unenlightened observer would think so. However, Earth does not simply mean rock and stone."
Shifting her weight with a clink of carapace, you say, "Lava is hardly the most subtle of elements, either."
Chuckling, Krackenor d'Murani, Maker of Mountains says, "Of course not."
Krackenor d'Murani, Maker of Mountains says, "Tell me, my dear...have you ever studied sand?"
You have emoted: Sadhyra crosses her arms across her chest, idly strumming her clawed fingers in a sharp staccato. "Sand is sand," she says with a shrug. "There's some near the river in the Glomdoring. Gets between the plates. Irksome."
Krackenor d'Murani, Maker of Mountains says, "I doubt you have...very few individuals outside of my colleagues do."
You say, "Oh? And what is that?"
Krackenor d'Murani, Maker of Mountains says, "Sand is fluid. Sand is insiduous. Sand is everywhere, fits everywhere, and exists practically unnoticed."
With a smirk, you say, "Yes, and put a little pressure on it, and it turns to fragile, tangible glass."
Archly, you say, "My songs have been known to shatter glass."
You have emoted: Sadhyra preens vainly.
Krackenor d'Murani, Maker of Mountains says, "And those glass shards are still sand, just in a refined form."
With a snort, you say, "Bereft of the sly power you alluded to sand having."
You say, "Simply...sharp. Unsubtle, once again."
Krackenor d'Murani, Maker of Mountains says, "They cut, the slash. I doubt you have ever had the privilege to experience one of the sandstorms on the Mountains of Madness."
With a crazed gleam in his eye, Krackenor d'Murani, Maker of Mountains says, "Let me tell you...that storm is the pinnacle of strength. It shapes mountains, it destroys the constructs of Mortals, it flays any creature unfortunate enough to be caught in it to the bone."
You have emoted: Sadhyra flexes her hands, her natural armour clanking rather pointedly. "Any?" she echoes.
Krackenor d'Murani, Maker of Mountains says, "Any."
You have emoted: Sadhyra snorts in disbelief. "Sounds like a tale you'd tell little geomancers. A Tainted bedtime story."
Krackenor d'Murani, Maker of Mountains smiles widely.
Krackenor d'Murani, Maker of Mountains says, "It sounds like a myth, that is true."
Krackenor d'Murani, Maker of Mountains says, "But how much more plausible is it to believe that a single wave can destroy entire towns and kill countless people."
Krackenor d'Murani, Maker of Mountains says, "Yet, such things happen."
Krackenor d'Murani, Maker of Mountains says, "We have seen them."
Snickering, you say, "Probably just Exeryte taking a bath. He'd displace that much water."
Tilting his head in curiosity, Krackenor d'Murani, Maker of Mountains says, "I don't know who that is."
Krackenor d'Murani, Maker of Mountains says, "My travels to the Glomdoring have been few and far between."
You say, "A very large man. It's a...ah...personal joke."
Krackenor d'Murani, Maker of Mountains says, "I see..."
Krackenor d'Murani, Maker of Mountains says, "Tell me about your people...I have very little information on them."
You say, "The Kephera?"
Krackenor d'Murani, Maker of Mountains says, "As a scholar...that is quite irksome. Not unlike sand in your carapace."
Krackenor nods his head emphatically.
Thoughtfully, you say, "Most are foul little beasts, barely better than insects scrabbling in the mud."
You say, "Not unlike the grubs on your plane."
Krackenor d'Murani, Maker of Mountains says, "Oh?"
Loftily, you say, "Oh, some say they are "intelligent" but I know better - they refuse to even acknowledge me as a queen."
With a dismissive snort, you say, "Clearly, they are mentally deficient."
Krackenor d'Murani, Maker of Mountains says, "I see."
Generously, you say, "But some...yes, some are adequate. They enter my hive, as subjects, and together we are more powerful."
You say, "Our...minds...link."
You ponder Krackenor thoughtfully, looking him up and down.
With an almost bored tone, you say, "You wouldn't understand it. It's a rather hard concept for a lesser race."
Krackenor d'Murani, Maker of Mountains smiles widely and humourlessly.
You have emoted: Sadhyra returns the smile with a frigid nod.
Krackenor d'Murani, Maker of Mountains says, "I may understand more than you know."
Krackenor d'Murani, Maker of Mountains says, "Remember what I said earlier? Things are not always as they seem?"
Krackenor d'Murani, Maker of Mountains says, "It has multiple meanings."
With a faint, agitated twitch of one antenna, you say, "I doubt it, but perhaps. Sometimes those outside of my race break the mold. Granted, they are hardly kephera, but...they come close. Sometimes."
You look skeptical and say, "Rarely."
Krackenor snickers softly to himself.
Krackenor d'Murani, Maker of Mountains says, "My dear...I find you very interesting."
With a toss of her head, you say, "Of course you do."
You say, "I'm a Hive Queen."
Krackenor d'Murani, Maker of Mountains says, "My brother told me about you, and I decided to get a closer look."
You say, "Your brother?"
Krackenor d'Murani, Maker of Mountains says, "Seretenin."
You hunch slightly and flare your body as you hiss warningly.
You say, "The beast."
Krackenor d'Murani, Maker of Mountains smiles widely.
Krackenor faces you, his inner worm stretching outwards menacingly in your direction, tasting the
air around you.
Krackenor d'Murani, Maker of Mountains says, "The beasts."
You have emoted: Sadhyra growls beneath her breath, taking a long stride away from you. "Lizards..." she mutters, her forearms bent in a curious inverted shape, close to her chest.
Examining him:
He is a sinuous illithoid and his body is incredibly pale and thin after spending years favoring the
pen and book over the staff.
Krackenor snickers softly to himself.
With a pout, you say, "I see why Fain favours you."
Krackenor d'Murani, Maker of Mountains says, "Things are not always as they appear, my dear."
You have emoted: Sadhyra stares pointedly down at her cube. "Petty creature," she mutters, before unfolding one arm towards the contraption. "I take it the cube is done?"
Krackenor d'Murani, Maker of Mountains gestures towards the cube.
Krackenor d'Murani, Maker of Mountains says, "Of course."
Krackenor d'Murani, Maker of Mountains says, "I think I will be seeing you again, Hive Queen."
Krackenor d'Murani, Maker of Mountains says, "And sooner than you may like."
You have emoted: Sadhyra glares back at you, her tone glacial. "I don't think I'll be tipping you. I'm sure your amusement will suffice as payment enough."
Krackenor d'Murani, Maker of Mountains says, "Oh my."
You have emoted: Sadhyra quickly darts in, snatching the cube up, before drawing herself up to her full height. Squaring her shoulders with a fluid grace, she stares at you silently.
Krackenor d'Murani, Maker of Mountains says, "This has been far more productive than just providing amusement."
You pick up an energy cube.
Krackenor d'Murani, Maker of Mountains says, "I know you now."
Krackenor d'Murani, Maker of Mountains says, "I've seen what you are like."
Krackenor d'Murani, Maker of Mountains says, "I know what makes you tick."
Krackenor d'Murani, Maker of Mountains says, "Now, my dear...now we can have fun."
You have emoted: Sadhyra juts her chin out, her posture regal and defiant. "To echo your own words, lizard," she says in an icy voice, "Things are not always as they appear."
Curtly, you say, "Good day."
Krackenor d'Murani, Maker of Mountains smiles widely.
Krackenor d'Murani, Maker of Mountains says, "Good day."
You have emoted: Sadhyra nods her head shortly.

Log 3: A rough defeat in the wildnodes, and some strong dislike from her commune for her race colors Sadhyra's attitude in this scene. Somewhat maudlin, with some mild sexual innuendo (hey, he's her husband, it's allowed).
Age: 25
=============================================
You lean on Ashteru seeking consolation.
Ashteru strokes you tenderly.
Merciless Chieftain, Ashteru d'Illici, Avatar of the Enigma asks, "What's wrong?"
You say, "Just tired."
You say, "Catching up on all I've lost."
You say, "Glomdoring gets so...angsty at times."
You say, "I thought, I will fight anyways, even when everyone else was just quitting."
You say, "Only Exeryte came to help."
You say, "Even Ciaran quit."
Sourly, you say, "Lip service is all the members of the commune can do."
Merciless Chieftain, Ashteru d'Illici, Avatar of the Enigma says, "Ex is a trooper."
A wry smile spreads across Ashteru's face.
You say, "They talk great and grand, claim such plans and gladly favour each other for "efforts"."
You say, "But when it's needed and the battle is hard - they vanish."
Thumbing you on the forehead, Merciless Chieftain, Ashteru d'Illici, Avatar of the Enigma says, "What, now you are sounding like me, love."
Stubbornly, you say, "Yes, but I keep going."
With a pout, you say, "You criticize, but you join them on the sidelines too."
Sighing, Merciless Chieftain, Ashteru d'Illici, Avatar of the Enigma says, "I was just about to suggest to run away together."
Merciless Chieftain, Ashteru d'Illici, Avatar of the Enigma sticks out his tongue and says, "I don't see a reason to put myself on the line if others don't do the same."
You have emoted: Sadhyra's eyes brighten faintly, as her lips curve in the suggestion of a smile. "Shall we go be pirates, love?" she says lightly.
Sweeping an arm before you, gesturing widely, you say, "Found a crew and reave across the aetherseas?"
Merciless Chieftain, Ashteru d'Illici, Avatar of the Enigma cups your hard cheek and smiles slightly. "Whatever you want, love.", he mutters, tilting his head.
You have emoted: Sadhyra lowers her voice to a husky murmur, as she leans in closer, her lips close to your ear. "You can even shiver my timbers," she whispers, "If your play your cards right."
You wink conspiratorially at Ashteru.
Pulling you to himself by grabbing your arm and planting a kiss on your forehead, Merciless Chieftain, Ashteru d'Illici, Avatar of the Enigma says, "I can start grabbing some people."
You have emoted: Sadhyra flashes you a cheeky grin, adding, "Or perhaps you'd rather dig for treasure?"
You have emoted: Sadhyra wiggles against Ashteru teasingly, before turning, skipping backwards from you.
Merciless Chieftain, Ashteru d'Illici, Avatar of the Enigma grins broadly and strokes your hand. "My my, haven't you matured in the last few years?" Adding with as if having an afterthought "Did I corrupt you so? I remember you being innocent.."
You have emoted: Sadhyra stares back over her shoulder, saying in a regal, haughty tone, "I am married now. And a queen, to boot."
Merciless Chieftain, Ashteru d'Illici, Avatar of the Enigma leans against a tree and crosses his arms before his chest. "And you make sure I never forget" Grinning broadly, he makes a swatting motion with his right hand. "Be a good insect and come here, or I will squash you!"
You giggle happily.
You have emoted: Sadhyra turns back to you, taking a slow, measured step closer. "Wouldn't want me to be squashed, would we?" she says in a low voice.
Merciless Chieftain, Ashteru d'Illici, Avatar of the Enigma laughs out loud and rolls his eyes. "Trying to seduce me now, are you, hm?"
Merciless Chieftain, Ashteru d'Illici, Avatar of the Enigma suddenly lurches forward and grabs you by your hips, twirling you around. "Don't forget who seduced whom when we got to know each other!". He lifts you upwards and plants a kiss on your lips.
You have emoted: Sadhyra smiles faintly, returning the kiss, while slowly moving her hand before her. "How is this," she murmurs, stepping away and slowly rotating before you.
Illusory description:
She is a graceful elfen and is a delicate, refined beauty. Graceful curves give her a soft and sensuous frame, while her features are petite and lovely. Wide eyes sparkle above a pert nose, while full lips sit beneath, lush and inviting. Graceful waves of hair float about her face in a silky, ebony fall, framing her features with soft curls.
-weaving an illusion of changeself, Elfen-
You have emoted: Sadhyra stares at you with Elfen eyes, her expression neutral and revealing little. The illusion wavers faintly as she shifts her weight, tossing her hair in an old, familiar habit.
Merciless Chieftain, Ashteru d'Illici, Avatar of the Enigma smirks as his eyes wander over your body, before returning to your face and locking with yours. "You know I don't love you for your body. I love you for who you are." Twisting his smile a little, he adds "I hope that wasn't too blunt for your delicate pride."
You have emoted: Sadhyra vainly strokes her hair, her fingers softly skimming the illusory curls, before slowly falling through the thick, ethereal glamour. Almost regretfully, she murmurs, "Just smoke..."
You have emoted: Sadhyra stares at you, tilting her head. "A faeling today, love?" she says thoughtfully.
Pensively, to herself, you say, "I could be a faeling.."
Merciless Chieftain, Ashteru d'Illici, Avatar of the Enigma takes a few steps towards you and plants a kiss on your lips. "I told you, I love you for who you are. Not for what you are."
Merciless Chieftain, Ashteru d'Illici, Avatar of the Enigma grins broadly. "Also, I am only a faeling so I can seduce me some priestesses and dracnari." he says while turning around and wriggling his behind. "Can you blame them, though?"
You have emoted: Sadhyra sweeps one hand across her field of view, her fingers twitching. The illusion of her Elfen body vanishes, revealing a flash of her true, carapaced form beneath, before the air shimmers, replacing the image with that of a delicate faeling woman.
With a simple gesture, you dispel a changeself illusion on Sadhyra.
Your illusion of being elfen fades away.
Merciless Chieftain, Ashteru d'Illici, Avatar of the Enigma cups your cheek in one hand and puts his other hand on your hip. "Why are you trying to hide behind illusions, love?"
You weave a glamour around yourself, which solidifies into the form of a nimble shadowsinger faeling.
Illusory description:
She is a nimble shadowsinger faeling and is petite and delicate, her frame slender and graceful. Toned muscles and tanned skin offer a strong compliment to her soft features. Ebony curls frame wide, violet eyes, while a pair of lush lips curve in the hint of a wide smile. Behind her stretches a magnificent, shimmering pair of butterfly wings.
You have emoted: Sadhyra shrugs softly, glancing over her shoulder at the conjured wings of her new apparent form.
You have emoted: Sadhyra leans against you, her brow furrowing as she slowly says, "Who I am is part of what I am?" Shaking her head slightly against your chest, she mumbles, "Or is what I am part of who I am?"
You say, "You change your race so often - can you even remember the feeling of viewing the world through that paradigm?"
Merciless Chieftain, Ashteru d'Illici, Avatar of the Enigma says, "I am me."
With a quiet sigh, you say, "I see, I think, I act...as a kephera."
Merciless Chieftain, Ashteru d'Illici, Avatar of the Enigma says, "I lost the bonds of flesh a long time ago, no, I can not identify with a single race."
Merciless Chieftain, Ashteru d'Illici, Avatar of the Enigma says, "However, the race I feel the most bond that will always be the Tae'dae."
You have emoted: Sadhyra shifts her weight, leaning closer to you. As the edges of the illusion drift hazily about her, they kiss your skin with an odd, cold touch, leaving a feeling of absence more than substance.
Merciless Chieftain, Ashteru d'Illici, Avatar of the Enigma wraps his arms around you and lays his head on your shoulder. "What is wrong, love? I thought you were happy as a Kephera?"
Pensively, you say, "I am. I am proud of who I am."
Ashteru's body and features begin to melt like wax, then solidifies into a kephera.
Ashteru flares his nostrils.
Scratching his carapace, Merciless Chieftain, Ashteru d'Illici, Avatar of the Enigma says, "Well, it's not really what I expected it to be, that's for sure."
Glancing away, you say, "I am Kephera, and Kephera is me. To separate the two would make a new me."
Putting his finger to his lips, Merciless Chieftain, Ashteru d'Illici, Avatar of the Enigma says, "Like you were a new you when you became a kephera after you had been elfen?"
You have emoted: Sadhyra softly runs her hand over your natural armour, as a short giggle escapes her lips. "Like that, yes," she says quietly. "You nearly left me, then."
Ashteru lays his head gently on your shoulder, entwining his fingers with yours.
Merciless Chieftain, Ashteru d'Illici, Avatar of the Enigma lays his head on your shoulder, his face twisting into a musing expression. "I am used to change myself, I am not used to others changing, dear. I just needed time to adapt."
You have emoted: Sadhyra closes her eyes, exhaling slowly. As the tension leaves her body, the glamour woven about her melts away, vanishing into shreds which disperse like mist into the ethereal forest, leaving only her true form exposed.
Real description:
She is a compound-eyed kephera and is an exotic example of her alien race. Bipedal, her body is roughly feminine and humanoid in shape, yet clearly insectoid in its details. A smooth carapace shrouds her slender frame in a rich range of hues swirling in marbled arcs of colour. Glowing with an almost liquid sheen in ambient light, the chiton glistens a deep purple, streaked with shades of crimson, while a hint of darker indigo lustres at the edges where the natural armour fuses to her delicate body. Beneath the barbed plates, her thorax sharply tapers to an hourglass-thin waist, before flaring out into wide hips which curve downwards into slim, spindly legs. Ridged by sharp shards of exoskeleton, their razored edges promise swift and deadly treatment to any enemies. Her long, angular face matches the lines of her elongated form, with high cheekbones and deep-set, faceted ebony eyes resting above a full-lipped mouth, lined with a set of needle-sharp teeth.
Faintly, you say to Ashteru, "And others?"
Merciless Chieftain, Ashteru d'Illici, Avatar of the Enigma follows the lines of your body with his claw, smiling as he follows each dent and scratch that you have acquired. "I love you like you are, now."
His eyes still wandering over your body, Merciless Chieftain, Ashteru d'Illici, Avatar of the Enigma says, "Who cares about others, dear?"
Stubbornly, you say, "Others hate me."
Merciless Chieftain, Ashteru d'Illici, Avatar of the Enigma says, "So? I love you."
You have emoted: Sadhyra clenches her hand into a fist, nodding slowly. Relaxing her fingers again, she says, almost plaintively, "But I am a Queen...you said they would worship me..."
Merciless Chieftain, Ashteru d'Illici, Avatar of the Enigma smiles and says, "Add me to your hive."
You ponder Ashteru thoughtfully, looking him up and down.
Darkly, you say, "After that ring, I doubt you'd remember which of us was the Queen.."
You reach out with your mind and bind Ashteru to your hive.
Ashteru falls to his knees, pressing his lips reverently to your foot.
Imperiously, you say, "Good that you know you should bow before your Queen."
Merciless Chieftain, Ashteru d'Illici, Avatar of the Enigma keeps his head down, hiding a smile.
Looking up at you, Merciless Chieftain, Ashteru d'Illici, Avatar of the Enigma says, "I worship you, dear. Is that not enough for you?"
You have emoted: Sadhyra chuckles, falling to her knees as well. Softly, she lifts your chin with one hand, until your eyes meet hers. For a long moment, she simply stares at you, your gazes locked in silence, before she whispers, "It is."
You have emoted: Sadhyra's eyes dance with a faint play of colour in their compound, luminous depths. "Besides," she smirks. "Now you're handsome enough for that worship to be worth noticing."
Merciless Chieftain, Ashteru d'Illici, Avatar of the Enigma smiles wryly and leans forward to plant a long, longing kiss on your lips before letting go again, his own compound eyes flaring brightly. "Enjoy it, my love, I will only do it rarely and for brief amounts." Tugging his chin, he adds, "But for you, I suppose I can do it."
You beam broadly at Ashteru.
You murmur to Ashteru, "So....Piracy?"
You waggle your eyebrows comically.

(cue silliness, the end for now)

That Roleplay had a little bit of everything in it, didn't it. I'm still laughing at Esano telling Veracruz to put the damn chickens down now that's priceless ha ha.

Many thanks. It was interesting for me compiling these, as I got to really see the arc of character development Sadhyra's gone through. Many changes and deepening of character are a result of interactions she's had with others; I think she's grown into a stronger woman, but with that strength (or maybe creating that strength?) are more fallable traits, second-guessings, weaknesses - definitely a change from the arrogant Elfen she used to be. Also, consider this thread a shameless request for more RP. >_>

Ashteru2009-02-23 14:27:38
Yours truly, not you.

Dude, what are you talking about, I was totally like, "Go Kephera if you want to be tanky." Since she was saying how being tankier would be nice, etc.

Reviving an old thread. I am slowly phasing myself back into playing, and this little encounter seemed a good "Welcome Back" to the game.

You tell Penumbra Golgothura, Servant of Binding, "We shall meet."
You tell Penumbra Golgothura, Servant of Binding, "I will collect you at the Ravenwood."
CLANHELP WHIVE
The one true Hive in the land lies in the Wyrd and Night's embrace - all other Hives are imposters, and their subjects mindless Kephera, deluded fools led astray by mind-numbing lies and deception. From the shadows, the true might of the Kephera race is refined and shaped to greatness, and only through Mother Night can the regal and majestic potential of the Hive be realized.
The Queen of the Wyrden Hive is Sadhyra.
You have emoted: Sadhyra flicks her antennae once in greeting, before beckoning imperiously at Golgothura.
In a stern chitter, you say, "Come."
Golgothura begins to follow you.
Throne room in the hive's heart.
The shadowy outline of a twisted forest casts a dark gloom here. As if hollowed from the living core of the ship itself, this chamber appears to be almost grown, rather than shaped, the walls curving in disconcerting bends, distorting perception and focusing attention to the raised dais in the heart of the room. Clearly the command center for the hive, a small flight of stairs covered with elaborate carvings, all intricately depicting the submission of lesser races, leads to a broad platform, cupped to support an immense throne. A smaller rise mirrors this across the chamber, hosting the ship's command chair, while about, the walls bulge in distending arcs, every surface shrouded with faceted jade. Shot through with veins of glittering emerald, skitters of light across the jewels create a heady and dizzying sense that the room itself is pulsating, breathing, pumping life into the rest of the hive. Crackling with energy, the command chair rises up from the floor. Penumbra Golgothura, Servant of Binding is here. She wields an athame dagger in her left hand.
You see a single exit leading down.
You have emoted: Sadhyra nods once, sweeping her skirts aside as she takes a seat on the throne in the center of the chamber. Her faceted eyes regard you keenly, as she tilts her head to one side. In a quiet hiss, she murmurs, "Let me see you, small one..."
EX GOLG
She is a compound-eyed kephera and is casting curious glances all about, giving off a ponderous air of reflection. Her heart-shaped face betrays not an ounce of emotion among its soft, gentle angles and brilliant green eyes. Her lithe limbs, each tipped with a hand of four long digits, splay from her dark carapace, which casts muted, broken shards of iridescence across the surrounding area. A soft fur covers the backside her head, tapering down her back to meet her great black thorax, the underside of which emits a soft silver-green glow. A pair of long, feathery antennae frame her face, draping down past her bosom. Upon her thorax is a faint silver impression of an inverted ankh. She is wearing a canvas backpack, a fearsome ruby dragon ring, a twining swans ring, a sleeping polar bear ring, a long black leather coat lined with crimson silk, a sweeping crimson cloak, flowing robes of midnight black, and a silver torc.
You have emoted: Sadhyra silently regards you for a long span, her stare as unreadable as cold, faceted gems.
Penumbra Golgothura, Servant of Binding looks at you ponderously.
You have emoted: Sadhyra unfolds one arm to rest it across the side of the throne, the rest of her body shifting against the jade seat with a faint scratch of exoskeleton against stone. "Tell me how you came to the forest," she murmurs, an antenna swishing upwards inquiringly.
Penumbra Golgothura, Servant of Binding looks down toward the ground, uncertainty creeping upon her face.
Penumbra Golgothura, Servant of Binding says, "I-I was called to the Glomdoring."
With the faintest hint of interest, you say, "Called?"
Penumbra Golgothura, Servant of Binding allows a sly smirk to awaken upon her mouth.
Penumbra Golgothura, Servant of Binding says, "My own personal tah'vrai."
You have emoted: Sadhyra smiles faintly, with a slow nod. "Mother Night spoke to you," she murmurs. "Just as she spoke to me in my dreams, and woke me from my hibernation."
Golgothura nods her head affirmatively.
Penumbra Golgothura, Servant of Binding says, "Such the sweetest voice should wake any from a nightmare."
You have emoted: Sadhyra bends her arm upwards to lightly tap her fingers against her chin thoughtfully. "The Wyrden Hive has been dormant for many years," she cautions. "Its members dispersed...its queen sleeping..."
You have emoted: Sadhyra stares closely at you - the light from the chamber reflects eeriely in her eyes, reflecting back to you in a jade glow, as her voice comes softer, sharper, more urgent: "Would you awaken this Hive? Call its queen back? Would you see it to grow, and flourish? Perhaps even become a queen yourself, someday?"
You have emoted: Sadhyra falls quiet, her words echoing in the sudden silence as she stares at you, her expression unreadable.
Penumbra Golgothura, Servant of Binding says, "I would. Yes, that-- and more, Night willing."
You have emoted: Sadhyra's eyes close for a long moment. Wordless, she sits, inhales, exhales, before she lets her hand drop to the throne's armrest. Her eyes open again, fixed carefully on you. Slowly, deliberately, she states: "Then let it be so."
Penumbra Golgothura, Servant of Binding inclines her head toward the ground.
You have emoted: Sadhyra rises to her feet suddenly; the chamber itself seems to hold its breath as she raises her hands high, towards you, and a green light floods the room, banishing darkness as the Hive around you springs to life.
You raise yourself to a regal height and found a new hive.
You reach out with your mind and bind Golgothura to your hive.
You have invited Golgothura to join the clan of The Wyrden Hive. You will be notified if your invitation is accepted.
You have appointed Golgothura as Subjects of the The Wyrden Hive.
Golgothura curtseys respectfully before you.
You have emoted: Sadhyra remains standing, nodding once in satisfaction. "You shall be my second in command, in the Hive, then, little one. Someday, perhaps its Queen."
Golgothura flashes you a joyous smile.
With a firm chitter, you say, "And remember always - the Hive serves Mother Night. For the Hive, nothing matters but the Glomdoring."
Penumbra Golgothura, Servant of Binding says, "Glory be to Glomdoring."
In a faint, proud echo, you say, "Glory be to Glomdoring."

Golgothura arrives from the down.
Golgothura curtseys respectfully before you.
You nod your head at Golgothura.
Throne room in the hive's heart. (an aether ship.)
Golgothura gives a chitinous scroll of night skies to you.
You have emoted: Sadhyra is sitting here upon the command chair. A single tongue of energy crackles over her arm as she reaches for the scroll. The chamber's lights flicker, dying down to a pulsating, jade glow, as she tilts her head and begins to read.
Witch Amalgamatress Golgothura, Spinner of the Dusk takes a step back, allowing you plenty room to read without her being a distraction.
You have emoted: Sadhyra lifts her chin as she reaches the end of the scroll, allowing the parchment to furl with a scratch of chitin against vellum.
You give a chitinous scroll of night skies to Witch Amalgamatress Golgothura, Spinner of the Dusk.
In a thoughtful voice, you say, "That does sound lovely."
Witch Amalgamatress Golgothura, Spinner of the Dusk nods sharply to you.
Witch Amalgamatress Golgothura, Spinner of the Dusk says, "Indeed, my Queen?"
A hint of warmth entering her voice, you say, "Indeed."
You have emoted: Sadhyra curls one finger in a slight beckon. "Very lovely, and right," she continues, her voice little more than a whispering chitter.
Witch Amalgamatress Golgothura, Spinner of the Dusk's antennae flip back happily, a small grin upon her face.
Around you, the chamber darkens, all light dimming until only your Queen and yourself are illuminated by the softly glowing jade throne.
Witch Amalgamatress Golgothura, Spinner of the Dusk's head gently leads the way as she inches toward you.
Through the darkness comes your Queen's voice, her words soft, melodic, almost gutteral, and nearly unspoken.
Quietly, you say, "We have a vision, you know."
Witch Amalgamatress Golgothura, Spinner of the Dusk's lips twitch fondly.
Witch Amalgamatress Golgothura, Spinner of the Dusk whispers, "A vision, Queen?"
Her words bleed into thoughts, into your own mind, and suddenly you find her no longer speaking, but thinking, feeling, and you along with her.
Around you, the Hive's central chamber extends. Darkness recedes to be replaced by the cold, icy glow of Night.
Awash in that beauty walk forth kephera after kephera, all straight and proud and lovely, terrifyingly lovely, alit by Mother Night's own blessings.
Witch Amalgamatress Golgothura, Spinner of the Dusk sways slightly, rhymically lost in thought.
A twinge of pain, regret, frustration shakes the vision, as a note of longing enters your thoughts, indefinable, but persistent.
Witch Amalgamatress Golgothura, Spinner of the Dusk's eyes dim in acceptance. Her maw stretches thinly.
The image wavers as a crimson light ripples through the vision - blood and fire and hatred muddy sight, shaking the ideal Hive.
For a moment, all you feel is anger - anger at your own sibs of the Wyrden Woods - and all you hear are their words, heavy with distrust.
Golgothura hunches slightly and flares her body as she hisses warningly.
Still, the vision is there, rippling upwards through the clouds and knots of racial hatred. Still the kephera stand proud and beautiful beneath Mother Night's dark face.
Finally, a semblance of yourself returns to you: you recognize the regret as the Queen's, and the longing as your own, before the vision fades.
As the Queen closes the conduit between your thoughts and hers to little more than a trickle, she pauses, lightly stroking your own antennae with her own.
Witch Amalgamatress Golgothura, Spinner of the Dusk whispers to you, "They will come... We will be seen as a vital vein within the Heart of Darkness. This shall be, praise Ngiht!"
You have emoted: Sadhyra stares at you, her own faceted eyes directly meeting yours. A sparkle lights them, though whether from her own gaze or a reflection of yours is unknown - and unimportant. In unison, she whispers, "Praise Night!"
Witch Amalgamatress Golgothura, Spinner of the Dusk's antennae softly entwine with yours as they quiver reassuringly.
Golgothura clears her throat.
With a faint smile, you say, "None have truly seen what a Swarm of Hivebound, Nightblessed Kephera can be, little one."
A wry smile spreads across Golgothura's face.
You say, "Kephera unleashed from the Underhive's dull controls, but still linked, still one - Kephera unique yet united."
With a slow, regal nod, you say, "Someday, though...they shall see."
With a small nod, Witch Amalgamatress Golgothura, Spinner of the Dusk says, "Terrible and beautiful-- a hand of Night herself."
The ghost of a smile passes fleetingly across your lips.
You have emoted: Sadhyra exhales once, the glow in her eyes dimming. "I must rest," she demurs. "You, however, continually astound me. The Hive shall grow, and your work shall play quite a part in that."
Witch Amalgamatress Golgothura, Spinner of the Dusk salutes you with a sharp motion of her antennae.
Witch Amalgamatress Golgothura, Spinner of the Dusk says, "I live to serve, Queen."
Dylara has been beaten to a pulp by a kephera attendant.
(the timing was too hilarious)
Golgothura leaves to the down.
QUOTE
"Spinning of the Wyrden Chrysalis", By Witch Amalgamatress Golgothura, Spinner of the Dusk (Page 1)
Spinning of the Wyrden Chrysalis
------------------------------
(Upon the fulfillment Commune law, section 11, this rite shall be
enacted immediately following the hunt of the Undervault.)
Needed:
Kepheran Ritualist
Kepheran Initiate
Wyrden Hive Queen
Guild Elder of Initiate
Corpse of Kepheran queen
Shrine of Viravain
Instructions:
With all gathered, state the intention and call forth the Initiate.
Turn toward the Initiate and bleed a sacred symbol upon their person; a marking of Wyrden beauty that represents the Initiate as an individual. Take the corpse and anoint it with the blood of the Initiate, dressing it with the glyphs of the Initiate. Examples could be the Widow's Hourglass, the Eye of Crow, a barghest's paw, a shadowed note, ect...
Instruct the Initiate's Guild Elder to speak as a witness of the grubling's worth. After she has done so, she should wet her lips and plant a kiss upon the cold queen's forehead. The Wyrden Queen should do the same.
Face the shrine and recant the Liturgy of the Manifold Wyrd to the Goddess Viravain:
"Myriad are the facets of the Wyrd, for as the notes of the Summer Song crescendo into whispers of the Webbed Mistress, so too does the calm before the Wyrden Tempest tremble; whilst the Wyrd births a Child, so too does the Storm bear Winds of Change. The Shadows weave elegantly about their Daughter so chosen, and thus does the Veil part for the aware, and to Thorns does She surge, waxing ever ascendant; this is the Wyrden Truth."
It is now that you dig your maw into the dead kephera's forehead until cold fluid drips from your teeth.
Offer the queen.
Spit the queen's blood upon your hands and work it-- dance it, even-- into a malleable web. Bind the Initiate in this web.
Speak the true intention of the rite-- pray that the grub be reborn of the Wyrd.
The Chrysalis shall now encase the Initiate fully, engulfing his skin as well as filling his entrails. The Elder, Queen, and Ritualist should channel power into the Cocoon. This process would be physically unpleasant to the grub.
Once the Chrysalis ages to a muddy-black, the kephera shall emerge a full member of Commune and Hive, their chitin awash with Wyrden beauty.

Filthy kephera.

I've been getting random dc's all day, only in Lusternia though.
Evomire2009-10-22 18:45:36
I really like the idea of a 'tainted' Glomdoring Kephera, even if it's only in personality, like the one you've tended towards here. I look forward to the day that Evomire meets Sadhyra IC It'll prove interesting, to say the least.
