Camisoles!

I have found that for many races, such as loboshigaru or tae'dae, a bra or corset can be completely OOC, preferring instead to be more naturalistic. Unfortunately, many of these characters wish to retain their modesty while not wearing bras, corsets, chemises, or petticoats. That's where camisoles come in. For those unfamiliar with the garment, it's not a garment designed to enhance (alter) how a person looks (at all, usually), but rather designed for those who want to maintain their modesty.

The base pattern is where you all come in. I'm not entirely sure of a few points:

First of all, should it go under Lingerie, or Underwear? I can see it in either, but I would lean towards lingerie, purely for RP reasons (your tailor would know how to create other fine undergarments, too, not just loincloths and shoes...).

Secondly, there's the question of where to put it in terms of bodypart; chest, gut, or both chest and gut. I would lean towards gut only so those who want to wear a bra also still could, but it would make more RP sense with at least chest.

Undershirts, too, perhaps as plain underwear, suitable for both genders, while camisoles would be fancier, intended to replace other lingerie items, IC?

Ideas?

(I'll post a preliminary base pattern here after the two questions above get resolved)

Tailors can make Chemise's, which is basically a camisole in that it is purely for modesty.

right, it's also a longer garment. Tailors can make slips, too. However, I had a request yesterday for an undershirt (forget who). It's something that should be in there, somewhere, I think.

See, my trouble is, chemises have chest, leg, and waist for bodyparts. I'm looking for a non-bra/corset undergarment top that doesn't have waist or legs, and not seeing any. So, if they want to fill this with something else, that works for me. However, right now, there's nothing available that fills the gap...

On a slightly related note, I'm kinda freaked out by the fact that Caerulo is wearing only a pair of boxers under his robes. Aren't robes supposed to be outer garments? Don't people wear shirts and trousers under their robes?

I'm kinda sad that people can wear infintite number of pocketbelts, hold infinite number of vials, but we can't wear more than two pieces of clothes on a spot? We can't layer clothes? Sure, you don't want us to stack robes, cloaks and coats due to proofs and enchanting, then let us wear more of the non-combat related clothes.

I think that robes are fine as main garments, actually. The problem is a lack of undergarment-layer clothes.

Undershirts in underwear would be a good start, I think. Ideas?

Fun fact: there actually is a combination of clothing that will allow you to have all four proofs at once.

I was not aware that this was a secret.

I agree. Let warriors wear greatrobes on top of plate armour. tongue.gif

I want to wear two shirts, damnit. Why can we wear two belts, but not two shirts?

And shirts under my robes.

Undershirts, as a new underwear base pattern.

Glad to know I'm not the only one who wants this!

Still, I'd like to see two (one regular, one lingerie), purely for RP, so one can be fancier than the other.

I blame Final Fantasy.

I second the vote for glasses. Or a non-artifact monocle, even though that would mean everyone getting one and walking around Magnagora, snorting, "Nahknahknaha!~".

I have no opinion on the topic of this article.

The undershirt thing is nice, but I think it would be nice if people could wear clothing under their Greatrobes and Armour. It would make it easier to change outfits and not have to wear big heavy robes all the time. People in real life don't wear the same thing all the time, so why should we? It comes off as icky to me. Undershirts would be good too, because generally men don't wear bras, and I think it's a much needed skill.

Also, garter belts that are in the Underwear slot rather than in the Accessories slot. Protip: You don't wear garter belts on the OUTSIDE of your pants. tongue.gif

Yeah...unless you are wearing something really short you don't want everyone knowing you have one on. I wore one once and had to take it off because it was showing through my heavy cloth robes. I was all slutty like and such with it on. I'm in Celest so having a whorehouse there wouldn't work so well. tongue.gif
