As Aesamar performs the ritual, the strange runes seem to shift before his eyes, struggling to take shape. The sound of dwarven voices echo in his ears, but in the end, there is only gibberish.
((You know that the script is Davek, the runic alphabet used by dwarves and giants, but they don't make up any known words in either language.))

Frowning slightly and rising from his kneeling position by the disc, the eladrin murmurs "Just gibberish." by way of explanation to his companions. In his already frayed state from the continued failures of his spells, he flings the rest of his caution in the general direction of somewhere windy, and takes a single step froward onto the disc, his slightly hunched shoulders belying his otherwise confident demeanour.

In a flash of light, Aesamar disappears, leaving only empty space behind above the ancient stone disk.
--
Aesamar finds himself floating in a void of silvery foreverness. There is no direction, or even really light--attempting to even see your own hand results in nothing, as if you were in the darkest room imaginable. And yet, still, there is a shimmering color all around.

((Well, crap. Current guess: Astral Sea. Let's see if Aesamar can work it out as well.))
Momentarily bewildered by his surroundings, Aesamar quickly gathers up those of his senses that still remain, and sets about attempting to decipher exactly where he has ended up.
((Arcana and Perception checks, respectively (1d20+12=23, 1d20+8=25)))
((Yeah, I think he might have twigged.))

You sense incredible and ancient magic all around you. You also feel that this should not be all there is--that this wasn't the intended destination, but rather a space that things were meant to simply pass through. However, the connection doesn't seem to have been active in a very long time.
Daganev2009-03-19 23:32:02
"Well,... that was interesting. Who wants to go in next?"
Unknown2009-03-19 23:43:38
((Okay, I have no idea what to do at this point, so I'm going to sleep on it, and see if either you guys do something else that works, or I think of something. Either way, it might be best if not all of us piled in through the teleporter, and instead maybe went through that door the hexer tried to escape through. I'm doing fine in limbo for the time being.))
Recognising that he is far from able to deal with this situation through magical means, Aesamar instead decides that the most efficient use of his time at present would be to allow his wounds time to heal, and to try to think of a solution to his unusual predicament.
((Enter a trance.))
((If something wakes me before the 4 hours are up, do I still get healed and regain my dailies?))

((No. And it's not actually that bad. I just couldn't let you out because I wanted to wait for some other people to post, so that way it's not like you just vanished and re-appeared instantly. You'll be free shortly. ))
Unknown2009-03-19 23:46:50
((Oh, right. Fair enough. I think I'll send my real-life self to trance sleep now as well, though.))
EDIT:((By the way, I appreciate the effort you're making to make sure we're all included. I don't know how hard editing a premade campaign on the fly to incorporate free-thinking/slow-posting players is, but thank you for it all the same.))

After about a minute passes, with the rest of the party looking on in confusion, Aesamar suddenly reappears upon the disk, unharmed, in a flash of silver light.

Tsuujin watches Aesamar suddenly reappear out of nowhere, even though he'd completely missed Aesamar disappearing, with surprise.
After a moment, however, he simply says, "If you found any swords or interesting armor, I want them."

Indeed, there are more goblins to slaughter. Lets get to it.

The door leads to a short hallway that is capped by another unlocked door.

I believe myth-weavers handles it when you set your xp to 1000 and your level to 2.

Kuro decides to follow the others through the door, greatsword at the ready again.

Ralzik checks the door.. and sees that yes, it is indeed a door. An unlocked door.
Satisfied with his revelation, the warlock opens it, revealing a long hallway lit with torches that leads to a flight of stairs.
At the far end, just before the stairs, is a closed door on the right and what looks to be a closed portcullis on the left.
