While his burning sphere remains in place, the tall eladrin begins to take a step... and appears several yards from his previous position, touching down next to the rogue and his three opponents without batting an eyelid. With a brisk wave of his arm and a sudden thunderous boom, he sends a crackling wave flying towards the goblin cutters next to him, dispatching them both and sending their limp corpses flying southwards.

((Sustain Minor on my sphere))
((Fey Step to P9))
((Thunderwave southwards, against C8 and C3. Intelligence vs. Fort12 (1d20+4=17, 1d20+4=14) Hit and Hit. Won't bother rolling for damage.))

Unfortunately, as the fiendish cutter recovered from it's dodge and prepared to strike back, it shifted unknowingly into a field of infernal ice of the warlock's conjuring. It's features twist in pain as it tumbles over and shatters into a million pieces.

((Quick question, I thought I was going to get a hp bonus cause of "When an enemy under your Warlock’s Curse is
reduced to 0 hit points or fewer, you immediately gain temporary hit points equal to your level." but then I read it more carefully, and I realized that I don't know what a warlock curse is or how to use it. Any websites for that? ))

((Basically, you use a Minor Action to Curse the closest Non-Cursed enemy near you. Then, once per round, you can add an extra 1d6 of damage to an attack against a cursed creature. And in addition, whenever a creature you have cursed dies, you activate your Pact Boon.))
Daganev2009-03-05 17:25:25
(( oh neat, ok I'll have to do that next round then. So basically I move, go invis, curse someone, and attack them? dnd4e is way overpowered))

((Shadow Walk doesn't actually make you invisible, it just gives you concealment, which is -2 to all attempts to hit you, and you could hide if you activated it via teleport or were behind cover initially before your move, but moving while hidden more than 2 spaces gives a -5 to your stealth check, so that is tough to do.))

Turning towards the loud peel of thunder, the goblins able to do so strike at the source, and the wizard quickly finds himself struggling under the assault. First, a javelin rains down, slicing at his shoulder, quickly followed by the stab of a short sword at his thigh. All that would have been enough, but then a massive burst of pain erupted behind his eyes as everything went dark and he let out a scream.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the square, the now lone goblin cutter, startled by the shattering of it's companion, found itself stumbling into the same fate, inching just a bit too close to the partially-hidden Warlock, close enough for the fiendish ice to grab hold of his blood and lock him solid. Off-balance and fragile, the would-be statue tumbled over, breaking apart on contact with the solid earth.

((W2 moves to N11. Hits Aesamar for 3.
C1 moves to O10. Hits Aesamar for 4 damage.
C2 triggers Armor of Agathys. C2 is dead.
H hits with Blinding Hex on Aesemar for 9 damage. Aesamar is blinded (save ends).
T7 moves off the map.

Next up: Tsuujin))

Tsuujin looks with mild amusement and astonishment as the goblin cutter he failed to kill with his last attack actually turns around and runs to him. The small blow from it's blade, however, changes that amusement into obvious irritation. Muttering something about this goblin having a death wish, he swipes out with his rapier and severs the goblin across it's puny throat.
He looks around for another target, and sets his sights on the warrior nearest to him, rushing to it with a thirst for blood.

((
Attack vs. c10 (AC 16) (1d20+7=17) (hit, no need for damage roll)
Moves to m5.
))

(( Question: out of curiosity, I read something about being able to trade an action for an extra attack... is that possible? If so, how does that work? Did I just miss a chance to attack W1? ))

((D'oh. I totally forgot that everyone within 10 squares of me should have rolled +2 on their Init rolls because of Combat Leader. I'll remember next time.))
Unknown2009-03-05 23:24:25
Just as Tsuujin rushes at the injured goblin, the smell of charred flesh can be smelt nearby as the flaming sphere lashes the creature with orange and red tendrils. The warrior, after a moment however, seems actually excited about it's new found position.

Shifting away from both the dual-wielding human and the orb of burny pain, the goblin finds himself face to face with the window of Garwan's Curisoities. He seems to only need to inspect the glass for a moment however before he has found what he is looking for. A second later, the sound of glass shattering echoes across the square, and those with a view can see the green-skinned thief wave something in the air and shout towards his companions.

((W1 takes 7 damage from Flaming Sphere.
W1 Shifts to O4.
W1 breaks window.

((In 4th edition there are things called Action Points. You get one of them per day (or every 2 encounters). You can spend an action point to give yourself an action of any type--move, minor, or standard.

Aaand if I hadn't of started working on the turn and stuff before your edit, I would have let you make the extra attack, but next turn you'll can feel free.))
Gaetele2009-03-05 23:31:28
In an effort to divert the caster's attention from the wizard who seemed to be on her side, Kuro moved adjacent to it and took a mighty swing.

((Move to K12, Greatsword attack on H.
Greatsword Attack against Goblin Hexer vs. AC 17 (1d20+7=18) - Hit!
Greatsword Damage on Goblin Hexer (1d10+4=11) 11 damage!))

((I moved you to K11 because if you moved to K12 the Hexer would get an opportunity attack against you, even though he might miss, I figure this is a good time to mention the principal.

An Opportunity Attack, or an OA for short, can be elicited in a couple ways.

1) If you are adjacent to an opponent and you attempt to make a Ranged attack, your opponent can make an OA as an immediate, free action.

2) If you are adjacent to an opponent and attempt to move, your opponent can make an OA as an immediate, free action. The exception to this is if you "Shift", which is a special move that uses all of your movement action to move just a single square. Or, if you are forcibly pushed, pulled, or slid, you don't draw OAs.

Also, since you moved and did a basic attack, you also could have Charged instead. Charging allows you to move up to your full speed in a straight-ish line and then make a basic attack with a +1 to hit. It's good if you're way out of battle and need to move, and then move again but still want to attack. Also, some items work well with charging, like a Horned Helm, that gives you +1d6 damage whenever you charge.))

Noticing the bloodied and beaten up Eladrin next to her, Zorga focuses on the annoying little cutter in front of her.

Deft Strike on Goblin Cutter AC of 16 (1d20+3=14) ((miss?))

((You get Combat Advantage in a few ways--flanking, or attacking from hiding, attacking a dazed or blinded opponent. Press the Advantage works that, if you score a Critical Hit (rolling a natural 20, or rolling a 18 or 19-20 with some weapons or skills), while you have Combat Advantage, then you get to keep Combat Advantage.

Combat Advantage (CA) provides +2 to your attempts to hit an opponent.))
Unknown2009-03-06 01:23:50
The goblin, being missed by Zorga's strike, reacts in the same way that his ally had before, shifting backwards. Luckily for the rogue, however, the Hexer was too busy with Kuro to drive the last cutter forward for another assault.

((C1 uses goblin tactics, shifts to O11))
