They used to be 1000. Now they're 10000. "Because weren't making enough of a return on the shops".

Glom's shop taxes are 7,000. Our last shops sold for 1,000,000+ gold each.
Taxes aren't the only issue here, really.
Also: There is a gold drain on the org for owning shops. Having taxes helps offset / counteract the drain. It's like, 350k for all of Glom's shops every year. May be a bit more now, I can't check it at the moment.

Some questions of my own. I've been playing a male kephera shofangi, my lessons being limited I'm at Master in Shofangi/Psycomet and Adept in Harmony. I know that there are tons of useful skills in each but with limited lessons I'm not sure which to go for first. Right now, at level 66, I bash some UV, kepheras are annoying with sleeping you so I usually do illithoids which I can only take one of at a time. Does anyone have any suggestions for a direction I should go?

omg the picture in your sig is suh-weeeeeeet.
Being Shofangi I'm pretty sure you're not allowed to hunt Kephera, so you should be sneaky (or stop) about it. You are limited because you're still a novice? I made Demigod off the UV tunnels (once in a while kephera, but they're worthless for XP, only good for gold), and around level 97 I finally started doing the prison.
My opinion: Clear the tunnels (you being Kephera shouldn't have problems tanking a fisher or two) and kill Illithoid while tunnels are respawning (not like you could clear out the tunnels before they started to respawn though), but be careful since people do patrol and kill enemies in the Illithoid Prison. Tunnels are good experience, and you can usually make up however much gold it will cost to refill your health vials.
Edit: If you DO continue to hunt kephera, though they sleep they don't strip kafe (haven't for me at least!) so as long as you keep that up you can still instantly wake up. For hunting Illithoid, I've noticed even being tanky I start getting hurt a lot if I have multiple worms - so when you begin to be able to tank more than one, kill the Illithoid, then the worm, then back to the next Illithoid, instead of letting the worms pile up and killing them all at the end!

Limited because I'm not buying credits outside of the game. I appreciate the advice, I wasn't sure about the kephera but I prefer killing illithoids anyway. Prolly going to dump the lessons I do have in psycomet as it has the majority of nice bashing skills.

Oh... I don't know anything about monks, but I would assume transing kata first would make you hit faster/harder/miss less? Not positive though, so... we'll wait for another response.

I don't know with my Gifted nekotai and truefavours Trans on and off I can't see any real noticable differences in accuracy for kata forms. Definitely use sharpness alot tho >.>

I didn't notice a difference in hit rate either. But after transing Nekotai you can have more kata forms in a chain. Doesn't help much because most things die too fast to notice.

I do sometimes miss with my nekais and kicks though.

I’d say Psychometabolism is definitely your best bet. Iron skin, regeneration and bloodboil are three of the best bashing skills in existence, at least in my opinion. Not to mention bonedensity for when you’re fighting something that breaks a lot. Just make sure to get gripping in Shofangi before you start to really work on your psymet(Not many things more annoying than losing one of your shofas when fighting a fisher and not noticing it)By the way, I’m in the same boat as you, the one with no credits. But, from mostly bashing and the occasional set of dingbats, I’ve actually managed to nearly transcend Shofangi and Psymet - all of you have to do is bash a lot. Although, you have to be patient. I’m actually sort of amazed, it’s about umpteen times easier to make money here than Achaea.

Yeah that's pretty much exactly what I did, hit 70 yesterday and was able to get Regen in Psychomet. Although I only make about 7k(read: one credit) per hour doing GIP, I don't know how I'll be able to trans anything until I can make more.

Hrm. At 70 that's not too good. You can track me down in-game and I can try to show you some better ways to do it, if you want. I'm Sawna(didn't really realize that your screen-name's suppose to be your character name). But, yeah, send me a tell and I'll try to help you out. Also, point out that my name is slightly feminine and I will kick your arse in some unusually manly way, like beating you to death with the corpse of a grizzly bear, or something.

So YOU have things survive 33 hammer swings?

I'm thinking about making a new alt/new main. What's the "best" bashing class in Mag, and the "best" race for that class? I'm thinking it would be Ninjakari, but suggestions are welcomed.
Damadreas2009-08-19 21:44:32
Ninjakari illithoid, for sure I'd say.
