Looks like the only reason Estwald's deathsong didn't go through was because he was following Romero and Romero moved right before it ended. Vathael didn't eat earwort after divinefire I think.

Fire does not cure earwort. Try it and see. It only cures earache which leads to you not eating because you didn't see the message for earache wearing off.

I've been owned by Narsrim once because I tried to fire before he started deathsong and it didn't work. It also cures insomnia (which I never notice until I diag later.)

EDIT: Aramel informs me that the former was nerfed, so ok

Yeah, I thought it was close to going through and didn't because Romero moved but apparently Vath moved so it didn't matter anyway. Deathsong is one of the easiest ways to kill people who have fired, though.
