Can anyone suggest some really good 2 player games for Playstation 2, Xbox, or gamecube? (no I don't have any of the new systems, but I don't have enough time to devote to them to make them worth buying at this point) I have both X-men games, both gauntlet games, baldurs gate 1, TMNT and Teen Titians. Halo 1 and Halo 2 for X-box. I don't play fighting games, driving games, war games, or sports games. Any suggestions?

Those are great when I play by myself, but I want something I can play with my husband.

Psh. Teen Titans is a great little brawler, actually.

When you say Baldur's gate 1, do you mean dark alliance 1? Get the second one too tongue.gif

I quite enjoyed Crash Bash when my friends and I played it in back year 10. It has a 2-player "single-player" mode too.

EDIT: That's PS1 though

Zone of the Enders for ps2, worth looking at.

I'd love to get a Wii for two player...but I'd also love a 360, they are sweet. Getting a Wii might make it easier to find games.

Star Ocean: Till the End of Time is a great RPG that has a multiplayer aspect to it

I am trying to sell my 360 cheaply, but...you're in Canada. sad.gif

Define War Games? Do you like RPG-strategy?

If so, I suggest Romance of the Three Kingdoms (RTK) 8 for Playstation 2. In this turn-based strategy up to 8 players can take the role of legendary or customized officers of numerous historic and fictional allegiances in post-Han Feudal China. While the somewhat lengthy sessions of strategic warfare are a key facet of the game, they are not the only feature. Building relationships with fellow officers during your turn via an Action Point system, you will unlock special items and events. Playing a non-combatant means a high charisma and the ability to sabotage and persuade. Witness the fall of the Han, fight alongside Cao Cao or Dong Zhou, and aspire to greatness as a loyal emissary, stalwart warrior, backstabbing politician, or renowned warlord in a battle-torn ancient world.

When I first played, I immediately thought, "IRE Games!" because of the "guild-hopping" -when officers are captured in battle, the enemy offers them a position. Since they may be executed if they refuse, they often accept. tongue.gif

I believe you can get this on PC as well. RTK 10 is a shinier experience, but in the US it was 1 player-only.

Older graphics and questionable mechanics, but fun with friends in increments of 4-24 hours.

A subnote: the game is x20 more fun if you roleplay!

Animal Crossing is a great, great two player game. It encourages co-operative playing.

Also, comes with free crack-laced candy, to help get you off the game.

You can get BG1, TotSC, BG2, ToB and combine them all into one game played with the ToB engine.

We've got that game too. We haven't tried the multiplayer part of it yet.

War games= games that are realistic depictions of war. I really hate the ultra realistic ones. I personally love RPG Strategy---my husband...not so much. I use to play Romance of the Three Kingdoms 2 all the time on my NES. It was sweet. My brother and I would play for hours and never get bored of it. I love the little bits of history in it. I tried playing RTK 7 with my husband, but he didn't like it. He doesn't mind turned based games like Final Fantasy Tactics, or Ogre Battle. Haven't found many of those that are two player, though.

I played the old version of that.
The new one for Wii is 2 player? Is the whole thing 2 player or just parts of it?

Oh that crack-laced candy was only in your game, Jigan. They somehow knew you needed it. How do you get off the crack?

MrShrimp: Yes I mean the first one. We are going to get the second one after we beat the first one. We are quite far into it.

Animal Crossing is evil.

EVIL.

My 13 year old sister plays it 24/7, and it bugs the living hell out of me. I am so close to smashing the Wii.

I only turn on my PS2 to play FPS's anymore. When I return from the Philippines in March 2011, I'm planning on buying a 360 or PS3 on the cheap, then I can play titles like Rainbow Six: Vegas, and Army of Two.

(FPS? World at War.)
Jigan2009-03-10 05:18:45
I believe Animal Crossing for the Wii is the same as the Gamecube variation on the arena of multiple players.

I wanted a Wii for over a year before my local Best Buy store finally had them in stock on a day I visited. I've since been very disappointed with the games selection. I've got Wii Play, Wii Sports, Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz and Boom Blox. I might try a Mario game or two eventually, but pretty much everything I've seen and/or tried has been for five-year-olds or just plain garbage. Looking forward to MadWorld, though!

Now, the Xbox 360 has a much better selection of games of all types (XBLA for the casual games, if that's more what you're into) and the online service is fantastic, even though you pay a nominal fee to play online.

For the original Xbox, I'd recommend Worms: Forts Under Siege. The graphics aren't always perfect, but the gameplay is fun and it supports up to four players.

It's kinda funny, but my husband likes the easy games (even though he can handle the hard ones). If we got a Wii with a bunch of kids games he's probably would be happy. I wouldn't have to hear him swear up and down at the tv either when he's playing. I like challenging games, but personally I lean towards RPG/Adventure games. X-box 360 would be perfect for me, but not for him so much. Anyways finding games for us to play alone is no problem, but finding good 2 player games is almost impossible.

What sort of games do you like?

No More Heroes, Zack & Wiki, Lost Winds (wiiware), Sam & Max, Metroid Prime Corruption, Pikmin (the new release), Super Mario Strikers, Mario Kart, Smash Brothers, De Blob. Those are all fantastic games.
