Very interested.

Same here, never managed to see what D&D was all about, and I'm very curious about it. I'm in.

If you need a quick run-down of what combat and stuff is like, check out the Barrow of the Ogre King game.

I've been following it, but I don't understand everything that goes on in there. I know that there are books and such, but I've never seen them, so I'm guessing quite a bit about what happens in there.

If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask here, and I'll be glad to answer until I organize a quickstart rulesheet.

Alrighty. Erm, how do we make characters if we don't have those D&D books?

The dungeons and dragons website has a character builder that you can use on a "trial" basis that walks you through character creation step-by-step.
Isuka2009-03-17 16:57:50
I'm in for the game.

Oooh, nifty.

btw, Isuka, you're going to want to go back and check the new stuff out. PHB2 just came out today, and so they should be updating the character builder soon.

Barbarian, Invoker, Shaman, Sorcerer, Druid, and Warden are the new classes.

Edit: Oh, and Bard.
Daganev2009-03-17 17:22:19
I think that sounds fun, however, is it definitely going to be zombies? Meaning do we all have to be clerics with the turn undead powers? tongue.gif

edit: I would suggest some sort of backstory that has a mix of zombies, orcs, etc, so that we can really play with all the classes.

Just because they're zombies doesn't force you all to play clerics and paladins and avengers. However, given that I already figured that was possibly how it was going to go down, no, it's not going to be just straight-up zombies. tongue.gif

This actually sounds incredibly fun. I'm very, very interested. dribble.gif
Isuka2009-03-17 17:45:57
Think I'm going to have to roll up a Barbarian.
Daganev2009-03-17 17:47:11
btw. is there a mac version of the charachter builder with the 2nd player handbook rules?
Unknown2009-03-17 17:47:38
I'm tempted to make a cleric that -doesn't- have turn undead. Is that even possible?

If there is a mac version (which I assume there is) It'll probably draw on the same data, and my character builder has the PH2 info.
Unknown2009-03-17 17:53:17
Dag > No mac version, unfortunately. Which sucks given I too use a mac. However, the tool Bali posted in the original thread might have some of the PHB2 stuff (because some of it was previewed) and what it doesn't have, I can help out with.

Caerulo > All clerics have turn undead, technically. It's part of one of their class "features". Basically, they have a power that they can use once per fight, but that power can take many forms, one of them is turn undead, another form is armorish, and you can add another based on the god(dess) you follow. So, by not using Turn Undead, that's fine, as you'd still have the other options for that feature.

Oooh, nifty.
Daganev2009-03-17 18:08:26
so um yeah, put me in.
