So basically, when a family founder suicides or goes inactive, the family they've left is out of luck. Any of the functions that they served are rendered worthless. (For example, in Kalila's personal case bloodbond cannot be approved because other family founder suicided.) The remaining founder can't even solve the problem by remarrying, because the original spouse is still the family founder. So, what I propose is that:
1) Things that need approval of a second founder are automatically approved after a predetermined waiting period. (Sort of like considering children.)
2) A referendum within the family allows an acting founder to be chosen.
3) A new founder is selected by the divine on a case-by-case basis.
4) The original founder acts as both founders.
Comments? Other solutions?
I'm sure this is a problem only affecting a small part of the population, but that doesn't mean it isn't something that shouldn't be fixed.

People have been trying to work on this for a long time. I agree with your ideas, something needs to be done. Not sure if the admin can do anything, but they should.
Of course, if Telperion hadn't stolen her only protege, divourced her after kicking her out of the manse she helped furnish with furniture, snubbed his then ex-wife, and called her tainted after she worked her ass off for him, Ryboi would probably have been bloodbonded by now.
Just sayin'.

It might help if instead of an approval process, there was a disproval process. Meaning you have 24 IC months to say no, otherwise the adoption/bloodbonding happens.

Yeah that's how everything else works >_>

He's got a point. That is what actually happened. All because he found out she had a Mag alt. Cute.

Okay, I heard a totally different story about this. I hate when these things happen, two separate people with two completely different stories on the same thing. This can lead to terrible rumors and what you think is fact is actually not. I don't want to argue who's right or wrong about this. It's obvous that Kalila doesn't either because she has stopped posting on this topic. I think that's a real shame because it was a valid and good topic until it got horribly derailed.
You all have a right to have your own opinion on the matter. If you want to argue it out, fine. I think it would be ashame to do so in this topic, especially because the original idea is a good one. Even if you don't like Kalila (parish the thought!) I think it would also be nasty to shut her down so soon after becoming active in the forums.
To go back to Kalila's idea. I think it's really something to be addressed. I don't like how families fall apart if the parent(s) commit suicide. I think families should stay together even if their parents commit suicide. This family founder stuff is even worse. It sounds like everyone and his wife would loose their ties to the overall family if this happens. I feel for you guys.

Stuff.
No, don't get me wrong, I like Kalila. That wasn't meant to hurt her, or shut her down or anything. I agree with her ideas, something needs to be done about it.
I was merely saying that this particular instance could have been avoided quite easily.

Fair enough. I wasn't trying to accuse you or anyone else about not liking Kalila. I just don't want to see a good topic go bad. (Oh wow, an idea for a crapy movie!)
