While browsing competitive gaming forums yesterday I found this thing, and it reminded me of Kongai which a bunch of people enjoyed so I figured I'd post it. On that page is a free trial version, and it seems to be able to play online fine so maybe any of you can see if you like it enough to spend £10 on the full version.

The rules are something like this:

Each player has a deck of 20 cards, 4 out of about 12 random spells from each of four elements and four random spells from a sixth (one in the demo) house of their choice. You have a kind of mana store for each element/house, and it goes up by one for them all each round. Then you play a spell for the turn (uses up mana equal to the blue number) and all your dudes attack either whatever's opposite to them, or the player if nothing's opposite them, for damage equal to the red number. Green number is hp.

It's by the designer of MTG, amongst others, so you can see some influences there, but it seems kinda fun.

I'm going to try it out, but I just wanted to say that it took me like 2 minutes trying to figure out where your link to the game was.

I feel stupid.

Heh...ok, let's make it three words instead of one so it's more obvious.

You may have missed the Yogscast epic furry rant, but perhaps you shouldn't miss their review of Spectromancer:

Nejii is perhaps a CLERIC.

(For said furry rant forward to 3:20 in this video)

Both of these do have a couple wordy-derds in them so don't open at work in a crowded office with your boss eating cake.

Bah, I'd like to try it because I really enjoyed Kongai (until I got stuck on skill rank 29 for like... a month), but I've found myself way too lazy lately to download anything, so I have a feeling I will need to pass this one.

As for the youtube... they've blocked it :/ Damn them. I blame the gossips about the possibilities to you holes to infect PCs through youtube. Too lazy to use proxy.org

Anything good in those youtube vids?
Shiri2009-03-13 14:11:22
Not in the first. The download is like 20MB though...

Oh, it's not the size really it's just... clicking, saving, waiting for it to download, setting it up... etc.
Like I said, heh, laaaazy.
