That's what I used them for. They gave good ego and were easy to kill.
*cough* They're the number one Caerulo-killers.

The lack of gold is what turns me off to group bashing. That plus some of these people are just plain crazy. For me, gold means more than xp, actually. So, if an area is good xp but doesn't yield a decent profit, I'm just not interested.
Edit: How would I get to Xion, or other aether bubble type places?

You won't be making any amount of decent gold until level 80+ when you can start tanking some of the stuff that actually drops it. Rounds of ur'dead, shallamurine priestesses, and the catacombs is the EZ way to Get Rich.
To get to aether bubbles, you can either purchase a ship or purchase the crystal that Jeremiah sells. Both are very expensive. You're best off buying the ship since you can use it almost instantly with commander skill + flashpoints, and it can provide more than one use to you.

You want gold? Influence, get esteem, sell, repeat as necessary.
Razenth2009-03-16 20:17:30
I would say that's not cost efficient. 30 seconds for an archon, 1% esteem each, that's 3000 seconds or 50 minutes just for 100% percent, which has a market price of about 5k. I could make about 10k in the same time. Even if you reduce that to 20 seconds for 1%, it's still not very efficient.

Ya thats true guards aren't really cost efficient unless you have like a ton of buffs for influencing. They're useful because there are large numbers in a single room thus you don't have to worry about moving about looking for more. Otherwise if you really want gold I'd go with monks in Tosha, although its a very popular place to influence. Takes a lot fewer attacks to beg a monk plus you get gold for just influencing them and you get esteem to sell later.

Obviously it doesn't match high level bashing but she's said herself she can't handle high level hunting grounds atm. Also, you're not factoring in safety. It's way safer to sit in your own org and influence guards, or sit in Tosha and influence monks than to run around the UV bashing illithoid/kephera and dodge enemies.
Razenth2009-03-16 20:45:32
Meh. If you know where to look, you can earn the gold I make bashing enemies no more difficult than "not to be trifled with".
Jack2009-03-16 20:55:28
And I imagine any area that is both lucrative and easy is bashed out pretty much constantly...
Razenth2009-03-16 20:56:27
Surprisingly, it's not. The Basin got a helluva lot bigger since you and I were both here. There's a lot of stuff that people don't know about.
Edit: Well, since I bash it, I suppose it might be bashed out...

Convincing argument, Jack. I applaud thee.
