I find this totally unfair, and an extremely frustrating mechanic.
The most it should possibly knock you off EQ for is 6 seconds, which is still too much because they can sap and vine for a guaranteed kill.

Was off EQ for 20s due to Harstone sapling + Ascendant skill. Plus it didn't even break the room...
I find this totally unfair, and an extremely frustrating mechanic.
The most it should possibly knock you off EQ for is 6 seconds, which is still too much because they can sap and vine for a guaranteed kill.

Nah, I did run into it back with Xenthos, when Celenwilde vs. Magnaglom was more commonplace, with the latter at least being able to field a meld and enough bodies to keep it up.

So your complaint is that you died because you didn't mulch, and tried to break a room that was unbreakable.
Sounds like 2 mistakes to me and had you mulched and then broke you would have been off eq just a few seconds for the failed breaking.

His death wasn't the point. It was a result, but the focus of his complaint was the 20 second equilibrium loss.
Whether or not it "would have happened" if he had protection up or whatever you are trying to say is secondary to his point that he made a boo boo and fell into the bottomless pit of equilibrium loss. 20 seconds is incredibly excessive here.
The Ascendant message is also misleading as hell. It confused me for a while when it first came out.
