Program a targeting system? It's one alias! Heh.
Kiradawea2009-03-17 10:48:30
Compared to Nexus, MUSH targeting might as well be making a whole new system.
Vhaas2009-03-17 11:11:34
Beat me to it.

Here you go. You're welcome. (It can be even simpler than this, and of course it could be a lot more complex, too. Still, it's not rocket science. )
    name="target__"
  match="^\\s*t\\s+(+)\\s*$"
  enabled="y"
  regexp="y"
  send_to="12"
  ignore_case="y"
  sequence="100"
  >
 ÂSetVariable("target", "%1")
 Â
CODE
 Â
  match="^\\s*t\\s+(+)\\s*$"
  enabled="y"
  regexp="y"
  send_to="12"
  ignore_case="y"
  sequence="100"

Of course THEN you need to write a script or more aliases to take advantage of the fact that you now how a target variable. But that's not too hard either.

You could also look at my crappy MUSHclient tutorial, as this is pretty much all I've covered there so far.

On another note, it is probably not a good idea to be a dracnari monk. The dexterity of 10 is quite terrible, and I wouldn't enjoy the slower sipping balance either.
Sho 'nuff. To be fair, though, I think the impact of dex for a monk is slightly overstated. I'd prefer to be race with higher strength and dex like a loboshigaru (14 str and 15 dex) or a krokani (16 str and 15 dex) to an illithoid or faeling, for example.

I don't know where to put that! Mushclient confuses me! I need step-by-step guides!

Illithoid and faeling destroy as a monk, one on one.

Oh no...I just had a horrible thought.
More like a horrible question, really...
What's worse: being ninja'd, or Ninjakari'd? ...For that matter, who would win in a fight, anyway? Ninja or Ninjakari?
The mind boggles. And prays never to be the test subject of such a debate.
EDIT: I'm so making a new thread out of this question. I hope no one minds.

Thinking of someone in particular?
Jack2009-03-17 23:10:36
Well, I was thinking of me, 'cuz that's my race and class. Not that I'm any great shakes at combat, yet, since I'm still getting used to monks and have yet to buy enough credits to re-vamp up my skills...
