Well if Jack is pro town, he'll be here to help us figure out who is the real joker. I doubt Jack wants to be lynched. Claiming to have a bomb strapped to your chest is a funny way of getting yourself killed. I have a few people who I'm suspicious of. I'm not voting for any of them yet, because I want to see how they act today.
On the contrary, if I were playing a jester and felt like making a decent game of it that'd be one way I'd play it too. Now you have to ask yourself A) how likely Jack is to do it given what you know of his personality, and how likely it is that it's that as opposed to being an SK/whatever or simply a bomb.
A is actually quite good odds, B not so much.
Doman2009-03-23 17:05:06
Shiri, reading through this, your logic is HORRIBLE.
The Jester doesn't need abnormals at all. Making someone abnormal is the equivilent of killing them for him, because if either of those happen, he's closer to winning. Right now, Jack is useless to EVERYONE unless we want to get rid of him on the possibility of him being the jester and using the "Lynch me and you die" defense.

Can we focus on Silfferas please? You know, vote number 3 with no new content? And the constant questioning of my attack instead of a straight out. "I'm a townie" statement?
So far Silfferas has done exactly everything Hartkux did last time I was right about this. Even despite Shiri's vote 3-4 statement on the first page.

How am I acting how a scum would act? At the moment, all we have is Jack's word that he's pro-town - which means that, if he's lying, we'll have to eliminate him to win anyway.
1. You voted number 3 on the lynch train without giving your own reasons.
2. You have yet to state that you are actually a vanilla townie (Don't try it now, it doesn't matter anymore)
3. All your comments are supporting things other people have said (except me cause I'm attacking you obviously)
These are the signs of a person who are trying to "blend in" and not bring attention to yourself. As well as trying your best to not accidentally give away info that you might have that the town doesn't.
Fania2009-03-23 18:23:54
I'm going to go with Dag on this one. UNVOTE Renthur VOTE:Silfferas Too many scum tells that I just can't ignore. I don't like that she is encouraging people to vote for Jack. There is too much of a chance that voting for Jack at this point will end up with one or two pro-town people dying. Also FOS: Solanis for jumping around voting for everyone under the sun. I think he's also detracting from important posts. I'm not forgetting about Shiri either. Her logic is distracting. (more stuff too, but I gotta get back to work).

Let's get the terminology right, because this is starting to get confusing.
Joker - makes people non-vanilla, wins when there are no vanilla townies left
Jester - wins when lynched
I want to give Shiri the benefit of the doubt for a moment, on the fact that I too made this mistake, I didn't think about the fact that eliminating a vanilla by killing would work as well as by changing their role.
However, his funny logic about "making" our lynch target be the last vote for Jack. I wonder how he thinks he can accomplish that, since he seems so sure that we can. FOS SHIRI
This makes me retract my earlier statement about the Joker hiding among the non-voters, and now I want to look at the people still voting on Jack.
I'm not so sure the vote 3 thing is completely reliant right now because we only have one Joker at the moment, and there is more than twenty of us playing, so odds are that Silferras is vanilla, and just as confused about who to vote for as the rest of us.
kiriwe2009-03-23 20:17:53
>_> where did I get more than twenty from?

It is relevant/reliant because Silferras could be trying to blend in. You also forget the other two things that Dag said points Silferras to being the Joker:

Shiri seems suspicious as well. Dag has good instincts on picking out scum, so I'm sticking with him on this one.

Think of the vote 3 thing like magic. You can go back over the games and look at the day one votes and you will always see scum voting 3rd on day one. And when called on it, you will see everyone saying it was just coincidence and they didn't plan it that way, and it's not reliable cause they didn't think about it, it just happened.
It's part of what makes it so much fun. The biggest problem however is that there are now 2 votes on Silfferas and so nobody will want to be vote number 3, or they will be vote number 3 just to prove that it doesn't work. But after they vote, I'll show you why it works.
kiriwe2009-03-23 21:08:51
Vote: Silferras
Explain?
Explain?
Daganev2009-03-23 22:10:49
Is that even a serious vote?
we need more people to talk and more people to vote.
we need more people to talk and more people to vote.
Daganev2009-03-23 22:12:10
we only have 8 active talkers, and we need 9 votes to lynch someone.
Dugan2009-03-23 22:59:53
Hrm.
I say we vote for a no lynch.
I say we vote for a no lynch.

Vote: Dugan
Dugan2009-03-23 23:08:30
okay ... care to explain why?
Tekora2009-03-23 23:09:36
Because I already decided to vote for the first person to push for a No Lynch.
And it's sticking, don't bother trying to change my mind.

Dugan2009-03-23 23:10:23
Actually, I could care less. I just wanted to know if you had a reason.
Diamondais2009-03-23 23:12:10
No lynches are bad, no information is gained for the town and the Mafia (or otherwise in this case, is it a joker here?) get a chance to pick off the town at night.
Dugan2009-03-23 23:12:30
And, I didn't actually vote for a no lynch, it ain't bolded. I don't really know if that is someone pushing for a no lynch ... it just might be something to consider.
