Not necessarily. The joker would still have to look out for roleblockers/serial killers that might kill him/her, etc.

But they still count towards the Joker's win condition, regardless of their power.

It would be interesting to know if the joker knows what role its target converts into.

It has been stated numerous times at this point, Zynna. The joker does not know what the converts get, power-wise.

I would like to hear what the non-posters have to say.
Daganev2009-03-25 22:54:49
It was also stated numerous times that the Joker can only alter 1 person per night.

But we were wrong about that.
Unknown2009-03-25 23:01:52
Maybe the Joker can convert someone once a day as well.
Dugan2009-03-25 23:01:56
This is my first game I can recall playing with Shamarah that I can recall, but not my first with Shaddus. Renthur doesn't post much, but an I'm alive would be nice ...

As for the two changes, we either have one joker that can convert two people per night ... or two seperate jokers, each being able to convert one per night.
Daganev2009-03-25 23:05:00
If that is the case, I wonder how the Joker is expected to be able to lose. If at all. hmm, Maybe Casilu is the joker? tongue.gif
Unknown2009-03-25 23:06:47
This mean we're gonna try voting for the Mod?

I could see two seperate jokers, each independant of each other. They have a what ... 75% chance to convert. They could target each other at some point and neither one would know who the other has already targetted. if one joker can do two at once, well thats just really bad.

Casilu herself said that the joker knowing what he converted his target to would be stupid.

hmm, not a bad theory.. but how do we know if it is accurate or not? we would have to lynch one of the jokers, and then have someone admit that they got changed that night
Dugan2009-03-25 23:28:23
Currently, we can't. But it is the only solution that makes any sense.
Daganev2009-03-25 23:39:15
well, theories we can't work off of, don't help us to much. They just distract us.
Doman2009-03-25 23:53:49
Crap, sorry, forgot to vote before I went out ot dinner.

Vote: Shiri
Daganev2009-03-25 23:56:34
btw, those voting for shaddus and shamarah, I suggest you two discuss which one you would rather focus on, and choose one. Otherwise it will just get ignored by them.
Dugan2009-03-26 00:01:51
I am voting for Shad. I have seen him post on various other threads today ... he isn't posting one thing here ... I say we jump on Shad for a while and switch later to Shar ...

General posts about lynching me: that's retarded. In order of posts in which it comes up, generally towards Daganev:
I was not asleep when day ended, it was like 7AM.Or 10AM. Now that isn't proof that it WASN'T me since if I wanted to be a censor.gif I could have stalled it out, but but it's terrible proof that it was me.
My logic was faulty and I can't believe you would try to say that AFTER I WAS PROVEN RIGHT. The joker wouldn't want us to waste a lynch on Jack since now he has more work to do to get the remaining players to be abnormal, if he could have lynched a normal. Same with Silferras. My plan worked. We got rid of an abnormal, and a threat, eliminating the joker's work without losing any vanillas. Not as great as lynching the actual joker, but then Daganev failed at that too.

That said I'm not as convinced Daganev is scum as yesterday for similar reasons, just reasoning terribly.

@ guessing: wait a minute, who guessed that the joker could convert 2? It's blatantly not in the role. I'm not convinced he can't, btw. We only have to find and lynch him to stop him, and if he's making cops and stuff as well as bombs and SKs that's not totally implausible. No one's come forward about being converted today so it's hard to tell how many, but that's to be expected.

The warning people not to vote third thing is WTF. For starters I said, repeatedly, that I don't like that reasoning. All you're going to do with that is make people hide from voting 3rd, and then jump on them for avoiding voting 3rd because that would raise suspicion.

Of course I was voting for you the whole time, because I thought you were the scum the whole time. Then because I wanted someone to lynch Jack because of the likelihood he was lying and an SK, I jumped on the Silferras train because I was the only one voting for you because your terrible logic had people convinced for some reason. Why would I waste my time sticking with you at that point when my original plan was going to completion (AND WORKED FOR TOWN)?

Dugan raises an interesting possibility. Maybe something they say in the day triggers a conversion. Like that one time Balizar wanted me to post three triangles in a thread to give lynch immunity. Has there been anything conspicuous like that? The two jokers thing is interesting too and explains the 75% thing handily. I'm on board with going for inactives right now for all the usual reasons, but I also don't like Solanis much. I also don't like Daganev trying to get me lynched still but I can't tell if that's just because he's reasoning badly or because he -really- wants me out of the way.
Shiri2009-03-26 01:47:22
Ok multiple sleep induced typoes. First paragraph: my logic wasn't faulty, "but it's terrible proof", etc.
Shamarah2009-03-26 01:55:04
Sorry about lurking, I have been really busy for the last couple days and when I got to actually read the thread it was still (!) night. For the moment I pretty much agree with everyone who's been finding Shiri suspicious.

Incidentally the Joker is able to convert multiple people on night one. I was confused about that so I PMed Casilu and she told me (though obviously I can't quote the PM here). She would not tell me how many people the Joker was able to target on night one, though.
Unknown2009-03-26 01:56:22
You guys are so mean to me. whistling.gif
Shiri2009-03-26 01:58:23
Also have Tekora and Renthur said anything of worth in a similar vein to Shaddus/Shamarah?

Why would the Mod tell you that the Joker could convert more people on night one? I don't understand that one at all. If it was important enough for us to know, I think the mod would have posted it and not just tell a player in a PM that asked ....
