Currently I am an Axelord Ebonguard with Transcendent Crow. However, I am considering going Tracking.
Any information on one skill versus the other is much appreciated. As is, I hardly use any abilities in Crow. The ones that I do use are: Return, Fly, and Track. That's honestly about it.
If you think tracking sucks, feel free to give tips on how to utilize Crow better in combat.
Thanks in advance.

Crow fails as a warrior skill. Get night.
Sorry.

If all you want is the combat, dont' go Tracking. Personally, I would never give up Tracking because I have so much fun with it. But it does have it's problems.
Cons:
-All of those neat abilities and buffs you get from Totems and Crow/Night do not exist in Hunting/Tracking. You will be considerably weaker in smash-their-face-in combat.
-Tracking is built around one thing: traps. Yet most of them you will never use, and you have to work hard to make the ones you do use work for you. You have to plan ahead and outsmart your opponent. You can't just walk into a room and start wailing on an opponent, that's not what Tracking is for.
-Many of the other abilities in Hunting especially have little use in brutal combat. They are helpful in other things, but not necessarily fighting.
Pros:
-Flavor. Tracker RP is great. Since there are not as many Trackers, when we are needed, we are appreciated. During the Mimic Gods event I spent hours using my hunting companion to find false gods. The RP that came out of that was enormously rewarding.
-Odd abilites no one else has. We are excellent at finding Manifestations of the Dreaming and determing exactly how many creatures are in an area. Plus, the Hunting Companion is an awesome beastie to play with.
All in all, if you are looking to destroy others in combat, you're better off with the straight buffs from Totems. But if you like playing with flavor and RP, Tracking is a good skill for it.

Honestly, I wish I could mix both, Everiine. Because, let's be straight, having a direwolf following you around and doing whatever you asked is awesome. Period.
But, the main issue I foresee is that I left BT because I wanted to have a more portable offense, and tracking seems to be not-so-portable. Anyone else on the subject?

Clamp from the dog is mildly useful in combat, if you're looking to slow down someone's melee combat. Traps, if set up properly, can be awesome. Paths are cool. Other than that, Tracking feels lacking.

You also get pathfind, and pathfinding =
However, if you're not too stuck with Crow/Tracking, you can look at Night. Night is awesome for PK and bashing with abilities such as Drink, Steal, and dare I say it, Choke. You can also join covens if you're a Night user.

If you are not wanting to go Night and are wanting to pick between Crow or Tracking then I would suggest getting opinions from people who were/are actually successful combatants as Trackers instead of 90% of the people in this thread.
Try asking Malicia or Geb.
If, however, you are not really set on one of those two then the outpouring of "Go Night" is most likely your best choice.

If you've already gone Night, then eh. As for a real answer: Crow fails as a warrior skill. It's gotten better with passive bleeding and affliction power, and if you can actually camp a nest, you get pretty tanky, but by and large, passive > active for a warrior tertiary, and Night wins there.
There's a side that a lot of people forget, though. Crow may suck, but Totems is not bad for a warrior, whereas Hunting just sucks all around. This is why people suggest Night.

The only "successful" trackers I've known since I started playing were Ixion and Shikha.
Pits are just a general pain in the butt. Huge nuisance.

Geb. Was a tracker everytime I sparred him as a mage. Rather nasty one too.
