So I was talking to Balizar, and in between expressions of our manlove for one another, I had a great idea.
I want to put together a group for D&D online play, using a program called Maptool. I'm fairly new to 4e and the software, but it's pretty amazing. It's a virtual tabletop that works over the net, and has all sorts of macros and stuff that allow you to get into the full swing of things.
An example of the board
A roll.
It's all real time, and all using the software. Standard D&D 4e rules. I'd like to get a group together and run a regular weekly thing for anyone interested.. To start with we'd probably do Keep of the Shadowfell, the prepackaged adventure(or maybe one of the higher level prepackages).
Who's interested?

I must say that maptools looks awesome. Infact, I wonder if I could get my luddite gaming partners to use it. I think it would add a lot to the game. But I can't commit to anything that requires me to be at a specific place at a specific time.

I similarly probably can't commit to more gaming than what I have lined up (It would depend on the day and times I guess), but I'm posting a plug to say that MapTool is, indeed, awesome. To people who aren't sure whether they want to try gaming in the program, it is pretty easy to get a hang of, especially with the video tutorials they provide if you need them.

I've been dying to actually play instead of just reading and hearing about it, but all the games keep getting canceled.
My schedule is pretty flexible, but I'll need to see if my fickle computer doesn't crap out when I load the stuff up.

Sounds interesting. I'm pretty new to D&D in general but very keen and free pretty consistently. Also, I'm totally down with the Bali/Vissy manlove so that's a bonerus.

I'd certainly be up for it, if not for the fact that I have 6 - 8 hour time difference with most of them and the fact that my shifts change every month...
However, should you decide to make a forum while gathering players for this one, I'd certainly play!

I think I will play if you will have me. My schedule is fairly clear. It does depend on the day of the week, of course.
Is this going to be an intense roleplay campaign, or just a free time adventure?

I'm intrigued, not sure how much time I'd have for it though.

Sounds fun. The software looks great and I'd love to give it a go, but I'm the the UK, which could cause scheduling difficulties.
