I am seriously considering changing guilds for Caerulo. I'm rather sick of influencing by now. I've made alts in all other orgs and archetypes, and so far, monk bashing really appeals to me. I'll have enough lessons to Trans the primary skill, and get the other two guild skills up to almost Master even after transferring the lessons to the primary lessonpools. So now, I'm gonna ask a few questions:

1. Should I do it?
2. Which monk guild should I go? I really liked Harmony, so its between Shofangi and Tahtetso.
3. Which race should I reincarnate into? Faelings are terribly squishy. I've got a list that includes Kephera, Loboshigaru, Krokani and Taurian.
4. Should I pick Acrobatics or Psymet?

I'll primarily be doing bashing, since for me, monk bashing is stress-relieving, as that's what lures me towards the monk guilds.

PS: Still love the Shadowdancers and Glomdoring. you all.

stealth is totally better than harmony in my opinion (though I've never used harmony...)

Monks are getting nerfed soon, but I'd love to see you in Serenwilde.

Harmony seems to be the skill choice of the uber-hunters. Stealth is more useful as a roleplay device though, and about the only one monks have. It is also very useful for getting out of/into certain circumstances.

I would choose Krokani, Kephera, or and especially Loboshigaru if I was going to become a Harmony monk.

And I'm assuming you're suggesting Kephera for the weapon specialisation. Does it outweigh the bonuses that Lobos get, as well as the lack of armour?

And yeah, I liked both Stealth and Harmony for different reasons. I love Stealth for its skills, but I love Harmony for its bashing boosts and its concept.

Edit: Oh, as for Psymet, does the buffs that Psymet give outweigh Acrobatic's springup and contort?

Mainly selfishness. If you already tried alts, maybe you know which you'd prefer from that. Neither guild is that awesome, though not for want of trying.


Well, here's where you've got it wrong - when it says "lack of armour", it really means "lack of plate." You can still wear robes. So yes, IMO it does make up for that.


I am bemused by the fact you prefer the concept of a skillset to ...a skillset, but to each his own!

EDIT: to your edit - yes. In bashing. Contort is mainly a PK thing. If you don't care about that, then you won't care about acro as much.

Hrm, I guess I didn't phrase it properly. I liked the concept of the skills in Stealth, but I prefer the concept of Harmony as a whole. Does that make more sense?

Is a Kephera with good robes really on par with level 6/ x2 level 3 regeneration?

I don't know what those numbers you just threw out there mean or where you got them from, but in the abstract DR (particularly unweighted DR like racial) does a lot more for you than regen.

I think he means racial level 3 regen from Loboshigaru + three body mantras.

You get the three body mantras as a kephera too, so...yes?

Hrm. For bashing, is there any difference between Tahtetso and Shofangi? If there isn't, I'm just gonna let preference decide.

I heard good things from a Loboshigaru. 'Twas why I asked.

Now that I think of it, at one point Tahtetso had something that made their bashing slightly faster than Shofangi's and I don't think Shofangi has anything Tahtetso doesn't. But the Tahtetso thing was nerfed and I'm not sure if it still exists/matters/stacks with speed anymore.

EDIT: Yeah, loboshigaru are good too.

Or you can go kephera psymet for dmp+racials for some pretty awesome tanking power. Psymet DMP is pretty massive.

Yes, they are, though I must admit that I don't hold on to my monk alts for long. On top of that, I only ever really bash with them, so... as Celina said, the regeneration is epic.

EDIT: This makes me want to go find out exactly how harmony+racial regen stack.

Hrm, is the regen from Harmony based on a % of max hp, or skill in Harmony?

Edit: Same goes for normal levels of regeneration.

Both are %. I think they MAY be +integer. Skill doesn't seem to factor into it AFAIK.
