They wouldn't have had a skillset to call Lorecraft if they didn't give it anything. All but maybe 7 elixirs were made available in the basic alchemy.

And two of the better gold making ones were given to Brewmiesters, ontop of the cool crap they already got over lorecrafing (Note: I am not a lorecrafter I am just not blind to a huge disparity)

way to go guys you just killed Lusternia's deep, alchemy/enchanting RP with this, go rot

In other news,

Thanks for the Brewmeister AB.

I don't even care about the gold making of absinthe and magic ink. Now hexen wiccans and dreamweavers who had the option of going alchemy and supporting their own needs of those potions now have to hope to find bards with the skills.

So! Essentially everybody but the people that had the original Alchemy seem pleased by the change.
Casilu2009-04-06 04:39:11
What are the ambiance messages for the different perfumes?
Jack2009-04-06 04:40:27
THEY'S SPAMMY IS WHAT THEY IS

None of you know what SPAM is. Eventru appeared in my room once and did his entrance message eight times in my face. blackeye.gif

It's okay Casi, just show me on the doll where he touched you.

I think it is more a case of lorecraft seems thin compared to the personal touch of brewmiester. When you look at brewmiester you think "yeah this is totally in theme and the skills all mesh with the very name." When you look at Lorecraft however you go "so... I basically just got alchemy back... and I can make perfume... the skills don't even fit the name of the spec..."

The one has some really nice personal skills, the other has.... perfume.

I could care less that wiccans have to rely on someone else in the same org for 1 small aspect. It is the "why don't lorecrafters get some nifty personal flavour buffs that make the skillset seem unique"

This is true. Hmm...off to the drawing table for some nifty skills.

I think access to a 14% resistance to a set of afflictions of your choice is a fairly decent buff considering the ones being cited in Brew-whatever aren't really that great. They sound amazing - until you test them. It's quite possible to stack TeaCeremony + Chaos Karma for almost a 50% resistance to stupidity, for example.

And lich for another 15%!
Charune2009-04-06 05:31:41
Keep in mind when calculating aff resist probabilities that you need to take into account intersections because the events are not totally independent.

If P(A)=14% and P(B)=33% then P(A or B) is not 47% ( P(a)+P(B)), it's actually P(A)+P(B)-P(A and B) which is around 42%.

Carry on, though.

Not once arguing that they aren't. Lorecraft certainly doesn't suck. It just certainly didn't get any of the personal love that brewmiester got. There is nothing really about Lorecraft that screams 'lore craft' to me. It is old alchemy, with some perfumes. Where as brewmeister seems to have some neat flavour skills that, whether they are 'as good as they seem' or not are better than Lorecrafts having no personal flavour skills.

I would rather have beerbelly than sandalwood oil. I can buy a pony, I can't get double trueshield.

Here are the smells that will spam you out. It is now required to where one in group combat and at the nexus, for no reason at all.

Jasmine:

As you luxuriantly rub the golden oil into your skin, you sniff abruptly and inhale the sweet and floral odour of jasmine.

A sweet and floral odour wafts into your nostrils from Casilu's direction.

Your ears perk as you inhale your sweet and floral odour.

Vanilla:

As you luxuriantly rub the smooth, caramel coloured oil into your skin, you sniff abruptly and inhale the buttery redolence of vanilla.

Your body slackens as you inhale your own rich vanilla redolence.

You sniff sharply, inhaling Casilu's delicate yet rich vanilla redolence.

Dragonsblood:

As you luxuriantly rub the resinous, red oil into your skin, you sniff abruptly and inhale the enticing aroma of dragon's blood.

You feel emboldened as you breathe in your own exotically-charged aroma.

Wisps of exotically perfumed air twinkles your nostrils, billowing away from Casilu.

Sandalwood:

As you luxuriantly rub the slippery, lutescent oil into your skin, you sniff abruptly and inhale the clean fragrance of sandalwood.

You feel calmer as you inhale your own bright and fresh fragrance.

Striking wood notes accented with a bright, fresh fragrance drifts on the breeze away from Casilu

Musk:

As you luxuriantly rub the thick, purple oil into your skin, you sniff abruptly and inhale the pungent scent of musk.

Your heart beats faster as you inhale your own musk-laden scent.

Your eyes creep towards Casilu as you deeply inhale her musk-laden scent

So who's going to make a nice rose petal mead for me to brew? It is heavenly and Lusternia requires it.
Arix2009-04-06 07:24:28
So, will there be any love for us crazy people who have stuck with cooking?

EDIT: Also, thanks for taking away my schtick and giving it to a class I JUST LEFT. Now bards can be crazy brewers and I'm still stuck with the same unenhanced stuff I've been trying to hawk for over a century
