You can instantainously eat earwort, sip allheale and cast green to clear them off you so, i don't think this will really be op.
Oh, you were talking about making them stick without octave on?
... It can be done?
EDIT: Wait, nevermind. <.< I'm inebriated IRL, ignore.
Llandros2009-04-06 19:42:20
err, no, there are plenty of ways to cure aurics while octave is up.

Yes, I'm aware that Mag doesn't do much stockpiling of esteem for some reason.
Mag has, by far, the fewest number of influence bots.
Shamarah2009-04-06 19:59:38
The fact that most of the popular Mag races (illithoid, viscanti) have terrible charisma doesn't help matters.

Spellcraft/Lorecraft people sure complain a lot. The only worthwhile issue that I've seen that needs addressing is probably moving magicink to lorecraft and putting reagents back in.
It's a good thing that everyone has access to every basic curative, if there were any imbalance as to why alchemy's 'best' things got put into the basic skill while quite a few of enchanting's 'best' things were left in their spec, I think it's because curatives are much more important to the average lusternian than enchants.
Neither skillsets suck, they're certainly not as shiny as tinkering/brewmeistery, but they're not terrible. I can understand wanting more personal skills in your tradeskill, but to me, seems Spellcraft does that already with hexangle and pentangle, the equivalent of forging coalrunes. Lorecraft does the same the philosopher's stone...okay that one's a bit sparse, since Sarrasri corrected me, give them a shorter allheale timer or something. I'm not opposed to asking for more, but you can't just ignore what you already have.
Edited a bit cause I was a noob and didn't obviously can't tell the difference between herbalists and alchemists.

You've probably already talked about Moonwater in this thread already, I just can't really be bothered to take the time to read through it all
So, ah, what does it do exactly?

Also, we are more likely to use corpses than bottles (bottles > corpses) - which is risky since if you die you lose all your corpses, and it's not something you can really do if you are on the defensive.

Someone handed it to me and says "Try this" And then the whacked me with a sword and asked what happend.. I was so confused!

Oooh, an idea for disenchanted achemists, give them an ability to distill corpses into esteem that can be imbued into things.

Yes, I'm aware that Mag doesn't do much stockpiling of esteem for some reason. Glom (well, Talan) does, on the other hand. I imagine Seren does as well. A few bottles helps the distortion go down.
Also, I'm not forgetting or leaving out that part-- the part you're overlooking is that city-folk did actually come along and disenchant every so often (either at the request of the forests or for comms or to do some playing of their own). In fact, you did so yourself against Serenwilde back when you were an enchanter, as I recall...
This generally does not happen regularly, which is why the sigils are replaced fairly rapidly. However, in the past when it was regularly occurring (again, I believe you vs. Serenwilde), they just stopped rebuying them. There wasn't much point for them.
And you also said that you're only doing what, 15 of them in "special areas"? Which I would suspect would be inside the pillars with the Supernals. There are no similar areas in EthGlom or EthSeren. It's pretty much all-or-nothing. If you leave a hole, you might as well just leave it all open, whereas blocking off pillars on Celestia can actually serve some extra purpose. Further, 15 is a lot less than 50.

I'm not going to argue further because in the end, I'm the one going to be making my profit from enchanting. However, I do realize your concern is largely that Ethereal Glomdoring is now a lot less secure. I guess you'll either have to suck it up and keep replacing sigils or not dealing with whatever consequences said action(s) entail.

Rename Lorecraft to Apothecary.
Lorecraft sounds like a bookbinding spec and to be honest, there is nothing in the spec that says "yeah they are crafters of lore"
They are Apothecaries!

Not everyone uses the same theme, so your colors may look much worse on their view. If you don't use custom colors, it uses the default for the theme, which is preferable.

What I just found out that's going to screw up with all the new brews recipes is this:
Pale Malt costs 3 grain and 3 sugar.
Amber Malt costs 8 grain and 3 sugar.
Dark Malt costs 15 grain.
Not sure about tea until they grow.
Brewmeisters can only brew one malt per commodity package.
This means that for a brew recipe as per HELP 21.6.3:
Brews..........3-4
You have to do, for example, 1 dark malt, 1 fruit, 1 spice for a basic recipe.
This eventually means the recipe is not 3-4 commodity, it is really 17 commodities.
Not to mention sugar is rare and alchemists charge an arm and a leg for them.
Even the very basic recipe like Olde Orcish costs 1 palemalt which is 6 commodities.
As well as, brews are not affected by the magic spatula or portions.
I'm not going to design anymore tea or ales if the commodity costs are so extremely high.

My argument is that you've lost a significant market. I'm not really sure why you're debating it, because it seems relatively obvious to me.
Of course, there is always the "envoy it" alternative, too. One "little change" turned out to not be so very little after all. We'll see.

These may cost more than other things, but I disagree that the costs are "so extremely high." Why is it that everyone's so against charging (or paying) higher costs for certain things? We have this stigma that everything worth having should be had for free or as close to it as possible.
Arix2009-04-06 22:25:27
Wait, so brewmeisters can do 'herofetes' too?
