Black Frost, whatever that means O_o

Black Frost is a visual take-off on Jack Frost, mostly unique to the Shin Megami Tenchei franchises- though they based concept loosely on something or other else.

umm yeah, I don't get it. I must be too old.

Like Suikoden, it is one of those spectacular "cult" games. Not a lot of advertisement.

Well Jack Frost is the publication's mascot. Black Frost is just an evil version of the more benign Jack Frosts.

I loved Suikoden. Pity I didn't have the memory stick for PS1 games, as I played it on my PS2 and couldn't save.

A plus-point was that it was loosely-based on Water Margin. I loved Water Margin as well as Romance of the Three Kingdoms (hence my love for Dynasty Warriors and the games series named after the book), although my Chinese isn't good enough to read the unabridged version of either.

Jack Frost of course, being drawn from folklore- they refer to other folklore in the 4th game as per Black Frost, if I recall. The name and image they give him is fictional, but the history alludes to something else I think. Whether or not the reference is factual... eh.

@Bali: Which ending did you get/cry over? A lover of tragedy, I enjoyed the "bad ending". Poor Nanami.

Atropos. Been wanting to play this game since I was in middle school.

Barong tongue.gif He is the king of the spirits, leader of the hosts of good, and enemy of Rangda in the mythological traditions of Bali. Banas Pati Rajah is the fourth "brother" or spirit child that accompanies a child throughout life. Banas Pati Rajah is the spirit which animates Barong. A protector spirit, he is often represented by a lion, and traditional performances of his struggles against Rangda are popular parts of Balinese culture.

I got Leanan sidhe. So, does this mean that I have a vampiric muse or that I am a vampiric muse?

The latter. It is the awakened facet of your "true self". The vampiric muse is your alter-ego.

Congrats!
