It would fail. The charge fizzles when discharged on a critical immune mob.
Which mobs are crit immune? The super ones?

Many supermobs, and summoned angels/demons.

Mmhm. Yeah, as simple as that. Silly me.
And for bards those critical notes are so epic that they go in from one ear and out from the other and travel all the way to the next person? That seems slightly amusing but I suppose it could be explained somehow...

Kinda makes you wonder why a bard doesn't have the ability to hit all mobs in a room at once

I leveled to 87 as a mage, I understand, but these buffs have really fixed any cross archetype balancing issues.
I got the last 40% of level 99 as an Aqua. Even as demi, mid level monks and knights (~80) can easily out perform my hunting because of crits (I have 17-18 int, splendor, trans resilience, trans psionics defs). I really doubt hitting a half second faster is going to suddenly even things out.
I like the ideas in the thread. I like the first idea better then Narsrim's, but either would make me happy.

Well, basically in the usual hits the soundwaves are only concentrated enough so that they affect the creature targetted. But in crits, they're strong enough to spread more and affect another creature?

Yep, makes sense. Carry on, nothing to see here.
Though my second point is still a problem, right? For group hunting this would increase the kills made by the highest-level people.

Erm, is that a problem? Wouldn't everyone get the experience?

Not only that, but you'd get more experience, because as a group, you'd be killing faster.
Havulma2009-04-09 01:54:53
Don't you get karma from only the creatures you kill yourself? And isn't the experience better for those doing the final hits? Or is it same for everyone in the squad anyway? Hmm, time to do some mythbusting, I suppose.

Yes, no, and no. Higher levels get a bigger share of the experience.
