I believe the idea is that it's a small bonus for being so set in what you're going to do - you can't deviate without penalty, etc. I see that someone's managed to bypass that little restriction without bugging it, so hopefully that'll get fixed shortly. With an end to skive-type moves, I don't see how it will be an issue anymore.
It's just one more problematic factor that makes things harder to balance. As we can see, it's currently breaking the regen-cured instakill skills.
Also, how does encouraging people to stick to a particular pre-decided string of attacks encourage interesting combat? To my mind, it makes everything less interesting, not more. Shouldn't one of the goals in designing classes to be making fighting as them and fighting against them interesting?

Why do you keep switching to archetypes that people want to nerf?
Actually, he switched to Shofangi knowing full-well that they were over-powered and on the chopping block.

I was pretty sure, but I had to point it out to the forum audience in general.

You're like American television, assuming the viewers are all morons. In many cases, this might be true, but you're alienating the ones who aren't!

I'm just including a wider audience!

I am curious Isuka, Why do you think being a Nekotai is so linear?

Using chained forms is a disadvantage vs. unchained since you get locked into a series of actions. It would be good to have some sort of bonus to compensate for this disadvantage. This is what the speed boost serves.

Well. That's why we have Combat Stance queuing among other things to compensate for those chained forms. I, for one, would be fine if they got extra damage or some sort of other 'bonus compensation' instead extra speed and/or critical warrior affs. It's retarded that an Axelord needs to work up hell and a handbasket just to land SeverSpine and a Nekotai lands it in a matter of moments.

Extra wounding instead of speed, go.
Unknown2009-04-17 01:34:48
Wow, I clock out for a day, and look what happens...
I guess I'm undervaluing poisons. I need to go take another look at the Nekotai set.
Plus... wow, after all that, I'm considering moving Ila to the Nekotai, if it didn't mean losing Harmony and getting stuck with Stealth.
Also, Sidd, I think that on this matter, your two cents is worth about four cents.
EDIT: Also, I'm against the speed nerf. Right now, without the speed bonus of being in a kata chain, even a normal writhe can escape a grapple before the grappler recovers balance. If the speed of forms was nerfed, that not only kills Crunch, but Shred and a whole ton of other stuff as well.

But chained forms make for boring combat. Again, why give people an advantage for being boring?

Who the hell are you calling overpowered? I picked the worst monk guild out of them all, with crap skills.. Honestly I think Ninjakari are better.

You "picked" the overpowered monk guild in the organization that Somaria wanted to join. And you knew it was happening, long before you even left Glomdoring.

Nooo.. I picked the crappy monk guild with terrible skills, knowing full well we would get nerfed eventually because people can't stand dying to something they find "boring".
I'm just not seeing the "LolOp" in this situation people. Besides killing the speed bonus on chained forms what else are you wanting to kill?

He is considered to be approximately 5% of your might.
And you're the only one who seems to think that Monks are crappy.

Eh.. what's the might comment have to do with anything? Because I'm 5% of you I shouldn't be able to kill anyone or something?
I didn't say Monks were crappy, I said Shofangi were crappy. Big difference.
Shaddus2009-04-17 02:17:27
Your Shofangi alt is 25% my might. Urazial is 125% my might, and I saw you whallop the hell out of him the other day. Monks are OP.
Shamarah2009-04-17 02:20:56
As usual, the point sails completely over Daedalion's head. It doesn't matter what monk guild you picked, the point is that you picked monk at all.
Also, Shofangi can slitlock, tendon, and knockdown in one combo.
