I think its kind of scummy to speculate about someone's alignment based on the first letter of their occupation.

Unreliable is not the same as "nonexistent." It's better than the other options presented, which are "nothing" or "things people claim are scum tells but actually aren't."

And I don't know, 'landlord' and 'cop' has a near-to-nonexistent relationship to me, as does 'queen' and 'jailkeeper.'

What information could I possibly have from any alignment that would tell me that being annoyed about a cop dying on night 1, decreasing the town's chances straight from the beginning, was a scum tell or not? I just disagree that that list is useful (I remember relying on it as a scum, too, heh.)

Guessing the mod is absolutely not a bad idea and never has been, as long as you do it competently.

Huh? I have. Don't you remember LAST game? You know, where judging my (bad) roleclaim as scummy was entirely predicated on guessing the mod? Unless the people responsible are going to claim they didn't think it actually was inconsistent and just wanted to get me out of the game, denying that guessing the mod is often useful if you don't suck is pointless. And lots of people probably haven't posted yet, it hasn't even been a day since it started (I only just got up.)

In that case, I had a clear theme, so it's not as random as it appears to be in this game, especially given what we have. It wasn't so much guessing the mod last time as 'getting' the theme I laid so many clues down for.

For this game, though, I think guessing the mod would be a bad, bad idea.

Considering some of Rika's previous games, guessing the mod would be an exercise in futility at best

Um, it worked fine in the last two of hers I remember...she did say she'd learnt from that though.

The letters have no clear connection to the roles we know. We have L and Q for thief/cop and jailer. Why would you think that Now would be a good idea to assocaiate roles with letters?
