I'd be more inclined to agree if the game wasn't filled with equally ridiculous abilities like demesnes. They also turn strategy into loldemesne wars.

Lendren, I'm sure you remember way back when. Serenwilde used to always keep a resurgem coven going at Mother, and had it triggered to fire on anyone's deaths. It only worked on people who were Moon/Stag, so it didn't matter if it fired on anyone else (could trigger based on deathsense colour, or "person has been" or whatever. As such, it worked very well, because it is one command versus two and didn't require recovering balance. Further, not many other people used "auto destroy other people's kills bodies" because a lot of the time it would destroy their own allies.
If resurgem is really rezzing Mags now, I hope you bugged it, Shiri... it was a bug when it was reviving Gloms into the Moonhart since we had Night/Crow and it wasn't checking correctly. Gloms died 3-4 times in a row due to those triggers...

Could even resurgem Alban and he was a Celestine (was by accident). I remember Tarkers also got resurgemed and died instantly to guards.
Lendren: My main point of comparison was asking for a coven to sit at the Moonhart just so you could be a pest in Glom with no severe repercussions. I know I've seen Tael ask for this a few times.

Yeah. I've asked for a standby coven on more than one occassion when I'm going into Glomdoring's territories. It works to great effect. I've died plenty of times in front of Crow users and have been immediately rezzed. Cheers.

It works on everyone, it just requires 10 power for non-stag or moon users. And no, it doesn't suck by a long shot. It's really not used nearly as much as it used to be, but it's still useful.

Well, then lets set up a resurgem coven with triggers then, since people are auto-eating corpses. If enemies get rezzed in to guards, well, I'm sure that will get fixed pretty quickly. But not doing it just means that resurgem is more or less for bashing deaths, and Serens are eating prayers that could be prevented for the sake of the peace of mind of enemies.

It's not "sake of the peace of mind of enemies". It's making those enemies pray, and forced movement into guards, and ... well, you get the idea. For the brief stint it happened before (I seem to remember it being fixed, which is why I thought this was a bug!) I'm fairly certain it was highly issuable.
EDIT: But yes, I'm surprised people don't have auto-resurgem triggers. Just make it check against a list of Serens before you resurgem.

You will get issued if you rez someone into guards, and I imagine you will be shrubbed. Forcing into enemy territory is a no-no.
