Can we please stick to ideas instead of talking about our dream skills? As much as I'd like to have Nihilism, Moon, and Geomancy... it's never going to happen.
The difference here is that all of the rest of us know that this is a ridiculous, sarcastic idea. You can't have momentum. Ever.

You can't wield a tahto and an instrument at the same time so I don't see that working out too well.
You know when the musician stops playing his/her guitar to hold the microphone stand? Imagine them swinging that stand.

Narsrim's point still stands then.

He could just play some old-school hc and smash people with his vibrating guitar viola while playing it.

I suppose that I must tell you that I think Warriors having momentum is a terrible idea even though I already stated it in my first post here. I usually expect people to read all of the posts before replying with nonsense like this, but it's clear that you haven't. I specifically said that Warriors shouldn't have "momentum" because it's broken. Instead, they should have something else that IS balanced. Something to break up the monotony of wound building that is every Warrior class and add a different dimension to combat without making them overpowered. So, unless you've got an idea or a valid reason why mine is wrong, then STFU.

Warriors already have their own unique mechanic. It's called deep wounds. Before you say "monks use deep wounds too" - no, they don't, not in the same way warriors do.

Maybe not in the same way, but they do. The main point for warriors even building deep wounds is to get good afflictions. Yet monks get afflictions that are just as good in a -much- shorter time frame. You're right - Monks don't rely on deep wounds like warriors do... because they're better at making them.
Everiine2009-04-26 22:06:52
NO class should be using Monk as the example of "I want something like that". The warrior system was good on its own-- before momentum it was the most unique, yet not hard to understand mechanics in the game. Why change it to something else?

Right, and that's why monks are broken.

Oh right, damn. Didn't consider weaponry. Okay how about a really long tahto that functions as a flute.

Can't argue with that. I've seen monks get five afflictions before I land a single one.

Because winning a fight as a warrior is about getting instakill afflictions. Sadly, it's nearly impossible to instakill someone with a good system and a high level of skill unless you're an omni-trans demigod and/or runed to the teeth. We CAN tank better than anyone else by far in PvE, and if we dish out 150k for a good weapon, we might have a slim chance to build wounds... but even then, it's all based on the luck of the afflictions and IF they manage to stick before the other person heals the wounds. I'm not asking for momentum, that's too unbalanced. But I suppose I'm asking for too much. :/

Wha? Warriors build wounds just fine on me. I wear robes, but still...most every non-warrior is wearing robes. It could just be you.

You need to have high strength, a great weapon and really know what you're doing to build wounds against someone with a decent curing system. It's not as easy as the demigod tank warriors make it seem.

I don't know how well deflect works, but splendos+trueshield robe wearers can handle wounds with ease. It's all about the bashing and the tanking. (Unless you have stats+elementals, then you can damage spam)
