We have watches, why not grandfather clocks?

I think it'd be some really lovely flavor to some manses / rooms, personally.

Yay, nay, what do you think?
Narsrim2009-04-26 06:55:19
Maybe the clocks could be attuned so that you could gain a benefit from them? For example, timeslip! Of course, this would only protect you from a single attack and you'd have to go back to the clock to regain the defense. It would stack for guardians with their existing timeslip spell.

I like this idea. Both the original idea and Narsrim's suggestion.

...I have nothing substantive to add.

Even if they didn't do anything, grandfather clocks would be nifty. cheer.gif

Room ambiance message whenever the hour changes would be awesome (but spammy, considering Lusty hours move in like, every 2 minutes), but still, nifty if something else happened. ohmy.gif

Maybe you should be able to set a time of day and date of month and/or year, for said ambiance messages to trigger.

A set toll depending on the design, and chimes at 12, 3, 6, and 9.

I want the Patrician's clock.

By set toll, I mean the designer sets it.

Cuckoo clocks! ninja.gif

Edit: With custom 'cuckoo sounds.' Of course anything between oinks and neighs are prohibited.

Oooor, custom cuckoo messages (Yes, the cuckoos can speak, back off ninja.gif ) tongue.gif

Ah, but won't that be like forcing players to hear our stupid mottos? Or worse...

The hinged doors to a large redwood cuckoo clock swing open, propelling the little green bird from within who shouts, "CoMe on little fellA, you like a' jumPRope don'chA? Ya see, zIp zop z00bity boP!"

My late grandmother's grandfather clock went off at noon and midnight. I was thinking something like that.

No idea if they should give benefits like Narsrim suggested, but at least to put a grandfather clock in your manse or some area of some kind would be very nice for RP, I think.

Ohh, I know! Make it tick every 1 hour, and the cuckoo comes out and says, "You have been roleplaying for an hour. Cuckoo cuckoo" tongue.gif
