I seem to recall that there was an announce-post stating that there were open submissions for being Mortal Builders. Do I remember wrong? And if I don't, is the applications still open? And do anyone remember how to apply?

Thanks in advance.

You remember correctly. According to my own memory and help mortalbuilders, you can apply at any time. The help file lists some information about mortal building and contains a section on applying, including the how and some tips for the application.

Just to give credit to Raezon's post, indeed, mortal builder applications were opened indefinitely - you're welcome to submit an application. Applications can be posted to the Plots board, HELP MORTALBUILDERS outlines what your application should entail. You can also e-mail them to camenae@lusternia.com - though posting them to the Plots board is preferable.

Realize applications can take a while to process, so you might not get a response for some time. But we do encourage everyone and anyone who feels they can meet our standards to apply! We're always looking for more eager people to help Lusternia grow!

Just to give credit to Eventru's post, we do in fact have mortal builders, and they do in fact do some building sometimes.

Are tools provided, and, do they get the day off if it rains? 'cause, roofing while it's raining just isn't done.

Just to discredit Elostian's post, his mother is a chaos hamster and he smells of sparkleberries. Which, incidentially, actually are a type of fungus that grows beneath Kethuru's toenails.

Question: Is the Plots boards a newsboard in the game that we can write in but only the admin can read? Thank you

yes

So, earwort are like the less tainted brother of sparkleberries?

You missunderstood, he has toenails that grow on some of his less savory tentacles.

Kethuru has toenails instead of eyelids on 12.9% of his eyes. True story, saw it myself.

If you can't complete the assignments, we won't use you again.

I noticed this in the HELP MORTALBUILDERS scroll. I'm just curious, how nazi are you in applying this rule? I know it is to weed out lazy applicants who don't bother taking it seriously, but what if... say I break a leg, or lose internet-access for a week or something else that is beyond my power but makes it impossible for me to complete the assignment. Will it still make it impossible for me to continue a builder?

I know. Hopefully it won't be an issue, but I'm still curious.

Everything is case-by-case. I don't think any of us are willing to sit and say, 'This is an okay acception, this isn't.' But we also realize mortal builders are volunteers, like we are, and that real life can take precident. So long as the mortal builder lets us know what's going on, I can say none of us are so inhuman that we'd throw away a good builder because their grandmother died and they've been in London for the past week at her funeral.

We aren't horribly mean people. I can't speak for everyone or the Camenae in this, but I can say that generally when a builder is assigned a project, the end-date is pretty open - ie, you're assigned 10 rooms, and you have two weeks to do them, or something. Due-dates are generally rather open-ended, though there are exceptions.

Builders aren't assigned projects we don't think you can handle, though. I wouldn't worry overmuch. To me, it more reads, 'If you can't finish a project because you're lazy/don't want to and don't bother to make an effort to let us know within a decent time frame that you can't finish it by the assigned date and make every reasonable effort to be polite about the situation, and generally just show disrespect in that manner, you probably won't find someone who's willing to work with you.'
