Yeah, I know the forum "The Real World" seems to have been flooded with music topics lately. Well, that's one of its purposes, so I'm going to add another one to the pile. Except this topic has ninjas.
I just saw Ninja Academy at the Bug Jar in my hometown of Rochester, NY today. And I know this is going to sound cliche, but they rocked. I wouldn't say it if it wasn't true.
If you're wondering who they are, they are a duo from Los Angeles, CA - one plays bass guitar and one plays drums. Somehow, through their ninja powers, they sound very hard and heavy with just these two instruments (and an array of effects pedals, of course). So they're like The White Stripes, but bassier. And they are also hilarious live, being as funny as they are heavy.
To get an idea of what they sound like, try Your Kung Fu Sucks for starters. They are cool, and by cool, I mean totally sweet. Just look at this pic I snapped with them for proof (just pay no attention to the man in the middle, I look horrible...er, wait, no, you didn't see anything ):

I one up your Ninja Academy with the Minibosses... Saw them play live a year ago in the "Church" in Philly (literally the basement to a Unitarian Church of Philly that books $5 to $10 punk shows). The two guitarists who are damn precise, and can shred off licks to give a stereo effect. Gotta love anyone who reinterpret classic 8-bit, not to mention old school Nintendo nostalgia.
Minibosses play Castlevania III theme song.

Was that video supposed to implant subliminal instructions in my mind?
But yeah, for cereal, I'll check out the Minibosses. Any idea where I can find their stuff? I.e. CDs/MP3s to buy, merchandise, etc.
