I've just become the Maker of Mountains, and in line with my plan to sack inactive people, I've used my newly restored GUILD OUST privilege to remove people who were inactive as far as GUILD LASTLOGIN is concerned. Too bad for secretaries, undersecretaries, and archivists who are easy targets on HELP GEOMANCERS.
Unfortunately, there are people who are skimming under my radar, namely the teachers in the collegium who are either inactive or downright unhelpful. I've noticed a few of them before, but I can't remember who they are. So perhaps we could have something like COLLEGE TEACHERS, which parallels GUILD AIDES and lists the Collegium Teachers/Professors.
In addition to this, I have no listing of what I can do as far as college is concerned. Perhaps we can have a COLLEGE PRIVS, similar to CITY/COMMUNE PRIVS and GUILD PRIVS so that we know exactly what we can do? That way if we forget the syntax we don't have to hope that someone who knows is around.
Also, GUILD LEDGER doesn't seem to recognize professors/teachers as a rank. Rightly so because it isn't reflected in GWHO or on HELP but it would be useful to. Maybe if Professors/Teachers even came out on HELP GUILDS it would be easier for us all.

I was under the (perhaps mistaken?) impression that...
undersecretary == professor
gm == chancellor
undersecretary == professor
gm == chancellor

Undersecretary and professor are two completely different jobs, I've had one before and not the other.

Depends on the guild. We almost always appoint UnderSecs and Professors. I haven't had the GA book in a long time, does the Professor position show up in that book? That would be an easy way of checking. Well, comparatively easy, considering I haven't heard about any changes to the GA books that actually make the impossibly long list of guild members able to be organized and used.

d'oh. I always mix up GA and GM because to me, GM = guild leader and the position that Lusternia's GM actually occupies is more of a "city leader" thing.

In the Harbingers we have Undersecs and Professors as separate. New undersecs get the offer of Professor if they want it. Some people are Professors and not Undersecs.
It would be REALLY helpful to have something like 'COLLEGE TEACHERS'. I had to clear out a load of dormant undersecs recently too, and it would be nice to do the same for my teachers.
