Yeah, I always imagined that too, but I wonder how it would be split? I mean, it's not like one's a physical race and one's a mental one, they're both pretty magic-oriented. Maybe there'd be more an emphasis on dexterity in combat for the trill warriors.
Lucidian get:
Guardians (Continuum seems to fit the overlogiced lucidian)
Monks (harmony fits better here for the same reason)
Maybe warriors
Trill get:
Mages (Aeromancy seems to fit the flighty trill)
Bards (music is fairly dependent on emotion)
Maybe warriors

Well, there's no telling what the admin will actually do with those races. Maybe Trill will get warped by the Taint or something. I mean, nobody saw Shadow Faelings coming.

If we go by the art on the race pages, I would switch Guardians and Mages. The Lucidian art depicts a Lucidian Aeromancer, whereas the Trill art depicts a Trill Cosmic Guardian of a type we haven't seen before. I'll jump out on a limb and say that it's the Continuum guardian.

At the same time, a human is a geomancer, the faeling is a hartstone druid, the mugwump is a shadowdancer, etc.
I don't think the art can be an end all of those type of decisions. It may be they both spec for the archetypes, or they may just be showing the archetypes with races participating as one.

I'll concede the Faeling to you, but the non-spec races are irrelevant to discussion. All the other spec races (barring Faeling) are depicted as a class they spec into. The non-spec races must be depicted as something, so they're given arbitrary classes, except for the Warrior weapon spec races, which are all depicted with their weapon specialization.

I've always assumed trill would get a spec and the lucidians would get another.
Each organization only gets 1 race to spec. Serenwilde/Glomdoring each wanted two spec races, and it was shot down by Estarra.

Has there ever been a Divine post specifically regarding this?
It makes no sense for one of the two races to get shafted as far as specializations are concerned, especially since they are both subpar races in every regard without specialization.

You mean like Elfen/Faeling (nonshadow) in Serenwilde?

I think a warrior race for Trill would be like a hawk or an eagle. Maybe call them Redfeather Trill. +2 Size, +3 strength, +4 constitution, -4 intelligence, -3 charisma. And give them an attack that allows them to charge from the sky with their tridents.

If/when the monks were brought in (I seriously doubt they'd be there from the get go) one idea for the Hallifax spec could be Tessenpai.
