If you act out of your norm for one game, and people get suspicious, but you turn out town, as long as you keep up with your "out of the norm" it becomes your norm. Behaviour patterns are important in mafia.

Its not a totally serious method, obviously.

You'd be surprised at how many games I've won in lylo simply by asking one of two people "Are you scum?" IRC mafia is of course very different, because things like reaction time and sentence structure are taken into account.

Lots of people are more comfortable dancing around a straight up question than going with a direct lie. Especially the inexperienced ones.

Anyway, this has been a fun tangent.

Your assumption is incorrect. You need to figure stuff out to contribute. If you don't at least try, we have no way to tell whether you're acting scummy or townie, so we have to lynch you as a precaution. And if we start a bandwagon on you and THEN you start showing up and saying stuff, it looks even -worse-, so just try and figure stuff out before it comes to that.

That being said, here is my own analysis.

Zynna is too eager to find out if I have a power or not. Her recaps rarely provide anything new.

Serella is friendly, doubtfully bad. She was around in Myrkr's mafia where there was no clear town.

Fania is WAY too silent. She's usually very chatty.

I can not confirm Casi's claim. I've got nothing that suggests I need to out myself from Sham.
