I thought prestige was like... naked -> nondescript
Arix2009-05-16 03:38:59
Is it weird that when I saw this thread, and who started it, the first thing that popped into my head was 'Wait, can prestige somehow stop a kick and run raid?'
Also, I believe, could be wrong, that it is better to have some tattered clothes on than to be entirely naked

There is what appears to be a problem with prestige and charity influencing. If you buy a charity influencing rune you have to attach it to a piece of jewelry. And you have to wear the piece of jewelry to get the benefit from the rune. But wearing the jewelry raises your prestige which counteracts the rune.
Is there another way of doing this that makes more sense?

Can you attach them to, and wield, wands?

You can buy the artifact that hides all your jewelry, of course!

Good question! You can attach runes to jewelry or weapons and I don't know if wands count as jewelry. The second question would be whether wands add to your prestige or not, which could defeat the purpose.

And do the Gloves of Concealment add to your prestige? If so, are they are hidden by the Cloak of Shifting Hues? And does the Cloak add to your prestige? If so, what do you cover that with? Heh.

Better solution.
Put it on a necklace, cover it with a tawdry scarf.
(Though in the end I ended up selling my charity rune, wasn't finding it useful enough with all the other bonuses I'm capable of stacking up)

My gloves of concealment and cloak of shifting hues don't seem to hide the right sorts of things, actually. I don't know if it's because of artifact status of the jewelry or what, but not all of it gets hidden. Since I can wear both and all that's visible is the cloak, I don't bother trying to figure out the reasoning behind the hidden/non-hidden items.

or just get a scarecrow hat
Shiri2009-05-17 15:30:02
Isn't that a dingbat artefact you can't get anymore?
Daganev2009-05-17 15:31:51
woo, I'm special! sorry, didn't realized that they were actually exclusive.

Just a non-tawdry scarf covered my necklace so that I went from nondescript to tawdry, as I have about half a dozen tawdry items on. Thanks. I look forward to when I have even more tawdry things to see how scruffy I can get.
