I can't tell how prestige impacts influencing at all. I've done some testing, and I've compared nondescript versus royalty (I have artifact gloves/cloak so obtaining nondescript is easy). I have absolutely no difference in influencing with one or the other. Is it supposed to actually do anything? It's not clearly worded anywhere.
I haven't tested charity, but it doesn't seem to make any difference with empower/paranoia/seduction.

The way I understood it, the more prestige you had the easier it would be to win influence battles (the exception being begging, which works opposite). Everyone I've talked to for influencing advice seems to believe it does make a difference, but I usually don't bother with it

I've noticed it's about a 20% boost.

with my scarecrow hat (total poverty), to total royalty, I've noticed a change of up to 4 attacks with begging and 2 attacks with empower/seduce etc.

This will also vary with how much CHA you have and how many other things you have buffing your influencing as well. The effect might not be so noticeable if you're stacking tons of stuff.

Agreed. I noticed there seemed to be a cap at a certain point. It didn't matter how much more I added on to boost my influence I wasn't getting further gains. In fact if it wasn't for the extra ego healing of my pony I would generally not bother with it as I have the same number of hits with or without it. The same with using oils, they don't affect my speed any.

Oh wierd...
Never had tawdry before I had the scarecrow hat, and it helped tons. I thought it was as low as I could go. Good thing they didn't nerf the tailoring abilities to hell.
