Time for stupid questions from Noola: What's a macro?

I'd say get yourself a good macro system rather than an alias system. Hitting a key is easier than remembering a command, and may help you in general.
I think it's purely a matter of preference when it comes to alias/vs macro. I used to be macro intensive, but I've switched to aliases and found I make far fewer mistakes.

A macro is a command associated with a keypress.

Three words: Benny Hill Theme.
Narsrim on Nil?
Village revolting?
A group of five enemies just entered the room where you stand, alone?
Turn it on and crank it up. Granted, you might end up not being able to do anything for reasons other than the jitters, but that's just a part of the game.

No matter how well I think I prepare, the moment I begin a fight the only commands I can remember are 'point cudgel' and 'nature vines'. And then, I die.

Has anyone suggested drugs yet? That's always an option.

Adderall + combat = win?

I was thinking something more leafy, but sure, that works too.

How about fighting someone to the death? I think after you did that once, it would be easy to fight in Lusternia.

I don't mind dying on raids, but I do adhere to a 2 death limit on any single raid. After the 2nd death, I go back to Prime and grind back my essence.

Lol. Don't ever become an ascendant who reincarnates often.
Also, aliases are best for me, macros make me paranoid cause I might hit the wrong one, aliases make me have to watch what I type and hit enter.
As far as combat supplies, I carry 5 of everything but miscellaneous things like nightsweats, teas, beer, and salt.

Two words: Yackety Sax
fix'd
I find that every time I'm in combat for more than eight seconds, I get so excited I forget how to attack. Then I get so spamlogged I forget what I'm doing. Al of this is, of course, assuming direct combat, not "Circle/pent spam while the demis around me nuke each other" combat.

So... like instead of typing "aa" to do something, you would just type "a"?
Unknown2009-05-18 22:14:53
yea. you don't even have to hit enter.

Generally it'd be more like the keypad or F1-F12 keys, but yes.

I use the keypad for moving. Hmm. Macros do sound like they'd be easier to do when my hands are shaking and I'm feeling like I might vomit.

The last time that I got the jitters that I can remember was when Desitrus/Shuyin/Me were doing the war seal event and that's just cause of like.. you don't want to lose.. and we won! But yea, lots of practice and a practical form of PK that you can remember. As a warrior I use the numpad and the ctrl/alt/shift keys to get the different attack types. Only alias I have is for raze so that when I gank people I can string move/block/raze all in one command and then back to the numpad. Also have movements on the numpad too. But yes again, lots of practice, it'll go away.

I stopped getting combat jitters when I realized that my deaths and losses in a game don't matter. Now the only reason I have for not remember my skills is because of lack of practice.

Well.. I think it's the competitive nature of some people that makes it matter...

I'm not a competitive person.
Okay, I am, but not in e-fighting. Give me a tablet and Photoshop, though...
