Clearly what we need is for Serenwilde to lose some forest rooms. When the next Soulless stops by, can Serenwilde get some zombie centaurs and wasteland rooms? That'd be cool.

Why wait for that? I've got Necromancy and a Geomancer!

I think it should go the other way, if anything. Reduce the communes' passive power intake. Power is already a non-commodity.

An equally valid solution, I guess, and probably healthier for Lusternia in general. More power only leads to more ascendants, and that upsets -everyone-.

Not the people being ascended!

Cities have better means of active power-gain, I don't think anyone would dispute this. Not only your respawning essence and empowering imps and the like, but also the direct connection to astral, and (for mag) recuperation from insanity which lets you cone more often and for longer.

Glomdoring has that Pool of blood or whatever it is either on Night Bubble or Ethereal Glom, not sure which.

Next up, only Nihilists and Celestians get that insanity reduction on Cosmic.
Kiradawea2009-05-25 21:35:20
Magnagorans get insanity reduction from the crypt I think it's once a day.

Keyword is direct. We have to TELEPORT NIGHT first (which has a fairly long wait period), and then go to the blood pool to get to Astral. Getting out is the same; TELEPORT NIGHT (which can be quite dangerous if you're on Astral, as anyone and anything can disrupt your porting and you'll have to start over).

Also, TELEPORT NIGHT/MOON doesn't work if the Moon or Night construct is down (and it happens).

I understand that, but only Nihilists have the quickest route to Astral for Magnagora. Everyone else needs a ride or use the constructs (which also can go down, go figure) So Magnagora also has those stipulations of it not being direct, unless we have a super awesome painting nobody is aware of?

Stop posting inane BS and splitting pointless hairs.

"Everyone needs a ride" Who? Everyone uses constructs which have been taken down a total of once for each Org. If you really want to split hairs, I'll one up you. If no one had any constructs, the cities can still get to Astral through Geomancers and Nihilists. Communes, if they are enemied to the cities, have no way but a cubix or a ship.

When it comes to Astral access, the cities win hands down. However, when it comes to draining astral, communes win. Warriors with cone = super easy power. I think I proved that for all of Glomdoring in my first week.

And Talan was clearly talking about truth. She specified Magnagora. If you are going to be snarky, at least pay attention. Truth, for the record, is amazing.
Xenthos2009-05-26 03:56:50
To be fair, I think Ragniliff proved it a long, long time ago...

Yeah, Raggy is scary coning.

If there were a choice to gain power through domoths or Ragniliff, I'd choose Ragniliff!

Lolno. Truth was proved damn near useless, it's not enough to reduce you a rank in insanity unless you're close anyway.

Warning: Bolded content is for people who refuse to read the entire post. Thank You

If there were no constructs, then yes cities would win, however this is not the case as I've pointed out. The current case is both cities and communes have that stepping stone or two before they get to Astral, there's no arguing that. And I have inane BS? At least I bring a valid point - at least the hairs I split were true, rather than this what if nonsense that's trying to be pushed. Oh and by the way, dear, I was disagreeing with Alacardael, not Talan, lol.

Ha. Hahahaha. HA.

What? Truth was bitched about when it first came out, but then everyone realized just how awesome it was. I bashed Astral far, far more than you. I think I win this one.

It reduces insanity by half. Insanity ranks are just for reference, the don't mean much. You can be highly neurotic and not missing many commands, and highly neurotic missing tons of commands. Truth can reduce you from near sociopathic to low end highly neurotic.

Argue this with someone who wasn't a Mag for a long time, maybe. Against me you'll just lose, because I know better.

edit: @Yiro: Still splitting hairs, kid. Who cares if it's ten seconds or two to astral. The point is Magnagora has stable spheres, Communes have the luck of the draw. Whatever point you are trying to make by insinuating it's hard work to use the constructs is a bad one.

And no, you were responding to Talan. smile.gif

Mag construct power. Cuts astral insanity in half once a day for ten power.

As has been posted multiple times, insanity levels aren't linear. It works something like this:

Level 1: 5
Level 2: 12
Level 3: 30
Level 4: 80
Level 5: 190

Numbers made up.

Imagine if you had 180 insanity points. You'll still be in level 4 but you've eliminated half of your insanity.
