If any of you play, or decide to, I just started a colony on Mars 5, and made an IRE alliance for anybody that wants to join!

Damn, I really screwed up. Is there a way to start from scratch? How often do they open up a new server?

I wish I'd taken more advantage of the protection bonuses.

I got ganked invaded the second I came out of protection. I fought off the first two squads, but the third one beat me.

Same, I built the wrong things in the wrong order. I'm tyring on some server thats close to ending to see if I can better understand how to start the game.

heh, well it looks like its going to be 3 people we will have to deal with. I'm just frustrated that I put all those resources into scanning and conversion technologies so now its going to be a while till I can invest in military technology.

I am building, and building, but not so much to leave protection. I also have two squads, yay! One squad dudes with guns, and one squad dudes with laser guns.

I see Zynna and Azoth still not part of our alliance, which would bring our alliance up to 11. We might have to build a second alliance soon! weee

Finally got the colony moved and I get 4some'd right away...I think I can hold them off but jeeze! Need to get rid of that post that's near us.

I joined, now to figure out what i'm doing...

focus on building up your army technologies first while in protection mode. The other stuff can wait for after you have an army. (though you'll want the basic mining and farming upgrades also)

edit: The other thing I figured out is that when you upgrade your metal/oil efficeincy is also affects how much the workers put out.
I found the numbers a bit confusing at first but it basically works like this.

If you have 500 workers and your mines are at 10% then 50 workers will be working on mining (thus giving you 50 pieces of metal) and the facility itself will produce 10 metal (giving you 60 per tick total)

If you have 200 workers, then you get 20 metal from workers, and 10 metal from the facility, or 30 metal per tick total.
