25 years ago today, something grew inside the brain of Alexey Pajitnov...
That thing was Tetris.
I remember when I got my first Game Boy, the included Tetris was of course my favorite game for it at the time. But everyone else in my family wanted to play Tetris too, so I could barely get a game in edgewise. I also remember every time I cleared four rows at once with the long bar I had to shout to the world at large, "TETRIS!"
So, in this thread, in honor of Tetris's 25th anniversary, please post your fondest memories of Tetris. And maybe play some while you're at it.
Oh, and before you anti-Tetris types go on saying that marking and celebrating D-Day is more important and saying I'm being blasphemous by following Google's lead and marking the Tetris anniversary, consider this...
Alexey Pajitnov is Russian. And without the Russians fighting the Germans on a completely different front during World War II, the Allies never would have won the war.
We therefore must thank the Russians for making the fall of the Nazi regime possible. And what better way to honor the Russians than by playing Tetris?

Tetris was a secret weapon of the Cold War to try and waste American scientists' and engineers' time.
