What would you like to see in June?

Back to Common Grounds.

P.S. Could 'most honourable family' please not count towards culture score? Or at least count for less? +500 culture points is a huge boost, especially for something that isn't actually related to culture in any way. Make it +100 or something.

I agree on the need for a split topic...gimme a minute or so to organize.
Gregori2009-06-02 09:19:01
Oh I keep forgetting this too. A way for children to pick which parent's family they want to be part of.

i.e

Gregori marrys Nejii (come on you know you wanna see that).

They have kids.

Nejii sheds in the bed too much.

Gregori divorces him.

The kids decide they want to go with their mother (Nejii is the submissive one in this relationship.)

There should be a mechanic to allow that.

wtf.gif

Don't drag me into this...

but yes that would be nice. And just as importantly, as I mentioned earlier, make it OPTIONAL (not forced!, this isn't referendums! remember this part) to remain in your old family when marrying. So Gregori wouldn't have to stop being a Mes'ard for the above, uh, procedure. I realise it might be muckier to code but it's worth it!

Thread posted in correct forum, Shiribot, Sir.
Shiri2009-06-02 09:31:19
I don't think that's the part I was referring to as needing a split if it were to continue, but ok!

1. More of the Histories, please sad.gif
2. Family.

Also, why stick to a quantity-based Great House system (needing 25/50 to be a House)? Let's say you have 10 members, but those 10 members hold high positions in the organization. Let Guildmaster count for, say, 3, CL for 5, etc. Quantity < Quality.

But Lendren!

Globglob, much like choke, is outside the box!

Much like this guy!

Don't you want to be outside the box?!
Noola2009-06-02 13:47:23
Why's Globglob such a big deal? It's not that hard to shut it down is it?

Selfish answer: ascendants
Selfless answers: forging, families in that order

(about families: SERIOUSLY make it so people don't get force-married out of their original family, it's just annoying for everyone)

It's not particularly clear what you would need to do to make races better at this point, other than statpacks which we're not getting...naturally fixing cults is vetoed too, but at least there are other ways to improve ascendance.

Yeah, the forced-out-of-families-thing's torn Mir apart... it's really a problem. why not just let you be part of two families at once? sorta like the gregori/nejii example.

I don't think very many people seriously want monks deleted, but we're all sick of them steamrolling over every other class with minimal effort.

Yes, we do. They serve... Very little RP purpose for cities/communes, or rather, Shofangi/Tahtetso do. I get the stealth/espionage thing... Let the tahtetso/kephera get that, or something like? Then they'd have RP purpose...

I'm fine with losing monks, as are most people here, I think. Bards... Have a purpose, and let's face it, rainbowmancers are fun to play.
Gregori2009-06-02 13:59:56
Oh look more stupid 'delete monks' comments.

Here is something constructive. Get it through your heads, they are not deleting Monks/bards. Stop suggesting it.

Edit:: Also people running around with rainbowmancer titles annoy the crap out of me. There was only one rainbowmancer. Everyone else is a cheap knockoff of someone totally awesome. Get your own gimmick.
Shiri2009-06-02 14:00:43
Oh yeah, THAT'S what I wanted moved into a different topic.

-comment before class-

No, Illithoid don't need any more help with base 14 INT, 16 CON and 17 DEX. At demi that'd be boosted to 16 INT, 18 CON, and 19 DEX which all can be boosted +5 more at max with all the buffs. If you want charisma, again, nothing is stopping you from switching races.

QFT

There are plenty of races which can influence very well. Illithoid is not one of them. If you want to play an illithoid then you don't get to influence well. If you want to influence well you don't get to play an illithoid. These are the choices we make when deciding what we want to do with our characters.

Edit:: I can hit hard or I can have 10,000 health and take minimal damage. I chose 10,000 health and minimal damage.

More forging ideas... less family talk!

Just telling the admin that forging needs fixin isn't going to help. We need to offer plausible alternatives. The more the better!

fixed stats:
fixed stats + special quest runes:
fixed stats + skillranks
random stats with +- temper abilities
random stats with powerstone temper abilities

etc etc
Shiri2009-06-02 14:32:37
I'm in the "limited variety of fixed weapon stats" camp. For all people say there will be arguments over what those fixed stats will be, it's not like there isn't already that problem and it's easier to balance individual discrepancies here through envoy reports than the whole thing.
