Because I don't feel like debating it until it's finalized. Obviously my original draft will differ from the exact implementation. Then even if people do like it and it changes when it is put in, people will go all BAWWWW THAT ISNT WHAT WE WANTED. Etc. Shuyin, Vathael, Melville, Xenthos, Chade, and a few others have all seen it.
As for the defensive, you didn't feel that was an appropriate response to this statement?
??? I'm not known for sugar-coating things, least of all garbage like that.

Just to add to everything that's been said on the thread, Desitrus' proposal is a sound one, its fair, balanced and you will like it.
This is not to say I don't want to see a reworking of the warrior formulas, but without touching those, Desi's proposal works well.
PS Get your envoys to support the TrueShield envoy report, that should go a long way towards helping non-arti/non-demi warriors compete.

Hey guys, forging != warriors in general.
Desitrus' report covers -forging- as it was meant to do. Everyone seems to keep misunderstanding the scope of the report. I know and want other changes as far as warrior combat and whatever else as much as the next guy, but the admin asked for a forging report.

Anyone who read the last page or so should have gotten that by now.

Well, I'm happy there is going to be some change, and happy that someone seems to think the change will be good.
I'm disappointed, but not surprised, that instead of asking the general public what they wanted and then actually taking it into account the admins have yet again decided to disregard what the general public has to say and turn instead to a single person's input. I feel a bit miffed, seeing as I've done my fair share of forging, and suggested more than a couple different ideas, that I had no input at all when it came down to it. But it's expected, and all I really want is a -good- solution. Besides, I'm well aware that I'm a nobody.
As for the changes, I hope that a mallet isn't going to be -required- in order to make forging viable. As it stands mallets are essentially required to do any quality forging, and a "large boost" to that is mind boggling. Artifacts should be desirable, not required.
Regardless of the outcome, I still think that static stat weapons put the balance of warrior combat closer to the rest of the game and would have loved to see that solution.

Whatever happens to the mallet, it'll just make it nicer to have, but not necessary, kind of like tailoring shears.

Just because I didn't poll you personally and take down a six page section of notes on your thoughts and desires doesn't mean I haven't read everything you've posted on the subject so far. I talked to who I had access to on short notice, including people outside of my normal circle, in order to run the ideas by them and take their input. It was also run by non-forgers and envoys just to make sure. I don't have time to check with every single player and any solution isn't going to be unanimous.

Yeah, that's a fun retort. I seem to hear it a lot lately. I forget that you're supposed to just be free to cry and moan about everything while no one reality checks you on it. When you put crap like "I'm disappointed, but not surprised, that instead of asking the general public blah blah." Here's a pro-tip, the general public doesn't agree with eachother. Look at this thread for examples. Half of the people are trying to sneak class rewrites. One third back one idea, one third another, and another third just trolling. Call me defensive all you like, but it doesn't change that you're beating the same garbage pale to the tune of "Why didn't you ask meeeeeeeeeeeee..." etc.
Chill till you see the final product and bitch that it ruined your life afterwords, not before.
Isuka2009-06-08 07:51:04
Someone needs a reality check, but I'm not so certain it's me.
Whatever, I'm not going to get as bent out of shape as you. Have fun with the changes, and thanks for keeping the elitist mentality of "I'm in the know, but you aren't, and I have no intention of telling anyone that I don't deem fit worthy of knowledge."
By the way, that -was- an attack on you. Had to throw one in after that little rant.

Heh, you're right. I do need a hug. Damned night shifts keep me away from my family too often now. I'm in withdrawals.

Bawwwwwwwwwwwwww nobody asked me I feel left out. I'm going to post about the grand injustices done to me on a MUD. Bawwwwwwwwww.
Have fun keeping your martyr mentality. Be sure to hop off the cross though, I'm sure someone needs the wood.
As an aside, anyone who has actually asked has received. Imagine that.

Isuka, you do realize this is The Desitrus right?
He has no feelings beside anger, it's what makes him so lovable.

Obviously. Guy can't seem to read a blanket statement without assuming it's a direct attack against him and bitching about it.
Not certain how that makes someone lovable, though. I'm curious about this.

That's because you assume I'm being defensive instead of just calling you on making ridiculous statements like "nobody wubs me." It was two AM and you got trolled, cope with it. Point is, you could have asked at any point in this and I'd have messaged you the details, but instead of that it's much more productive to come and heave a big ol' emo sigh about the tyranny inherent in the system.

Isuka, you have a victim mentality. I have heard your comments about a variety of things and to be honest, you just aren't open to any sort of criticism. Also, there are also things about the game that you have been openly wrong and stubborn about. I'm going to say that there is probably nothing constructive you can add to the issues about forging that haven't already been considered. Feel free to prove me wrong.
As for your worries about the report, I'd say you should just ask Desitrus for it before continuing.

mmmmm popcorn.... Forgers should get popcorn carts in the forge rooms, ayes.
